By that logic, the CBC should be trumpeting Jack Layton as the next messiah.

The Liberal Party is no more likely to give the CBC any more funding then the current Conservatives. The Grits fall just to the right of middle on the spectrum (recently).

It is, but I think the issue is that this same treatment wouldn't/hasn't been offered to members of the PC party.

Agreed. In addition, CBC features some fantastic documentaries on Doc Zone, the Lens, The Passionate Eye, and Wild Docs. Lately, they seem to beating the Global Warming topic to death, but the content is usually really interesting.

The Fifth Estate is also a really good news show featuring Canadian issues. I particularly enjoyed the one on Canadian organized crime.

If the Sun was acting in such a way with the Conservatives over AdScam there would be a cry out that the Conservatives were using the Sun as a gun to shoot out the heart of the Liberal Party.

Either the CBC can be an impartial news source or it should go private and represent the Liberal's as their own propoganda station. But it can't do both, and it shouldn't be trying to manipulate or manufacture news.

Good post CC, I agree with everything you say here.
