How long do you think someone like Lennon will be remembered? Do youngsters nowadays know, or care who he was?

Wow. How does 27 years fly by just like that? I was listening to the Flames on the radio and doing homework that night when the announcer stated tersely: "John Lennon is dead."
He was one of the great ones.

In my opinion Beatles songs transcend generations. Listen to a song like Tomorrow Never Knows and try to think about music without tape loops. Rap, Hip-Hop, Ambient, dance music.. they all owe their beginnings to Paul and John figuring out how to use tape loops to record that song.
Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream. This is not dying. This is not dying.

The art that was lost on that day is immeasurable.
We often don't think in those terms, but what could Lennon have given to the world? We'll never know.

He died a year before I was born, but I am a fan of his music, not a hardcore fan, mind you, but a fan nonetheless. "Jealous Guy" and "Woman" are two of my favourite songs. He was definitely a talented man.

D'oh. My dad fed me a steady diet of The Beatles, and most of it rubbed off on me, but I guess I don't know Tomorrow Never Knows. He'd be so embarrassed.

It was Sir George Martin who tricked you. Love is actually a really cool album. Martin and his son remixed a bunch of the songs and even combined a few.. Drive My Car/The Word/What You're Doing is really well done.

I was born 5 years after his death, and while over my life, my music tastes have changed and evolved, one of the not many constants was, "the beatles are good music".

Nothing to apologize about..i thinks its just the way it goes. Eventually new generations create their own icons. I wonder who some icons will be from more recent pop culture.

I have just never been a Beatles fan, I don't think that is ever going to change, but I respect what they did for music, and what people like John Lennon did for mankind.

That was one of the lowest days of my life. I often wonder what impact Lennon would have had on the world, both politically and musically, had he not be killed. I miss him.
