New Year's Eve 2008 in Calgary
Does anyone know of any good events happening this year for New Year's Eve?
Yes, I know it's the most overrated event of the year, but my group of friends all want to go out and dance. Of course I'll be the designated driver. As Danny Glover said, "I'm getting too old for this...."
If anyone has any feedback on the two Ministry of Sound events at Devonian Gardens and Snatch (formerly Outlaws), that'd be great as well.

Would it not be New Year's Eve 2007 in Calgary?

I knew that whichever year I chose, someone would ask if it should be the other. All the promotions I've read say 2008, so I followed that style. You are technically correct, though.

Actually, we were at the NYE game last year and while the indoor fireworks were kind of cool, we found ourselves just going home afterwards.

I imagine New Years 2008 could be technically correct, but since you included the Eve it should probably be 2007.
Wait! If it's New Year's eve with the apostrophee, that would suggest it is the eve of the New Year, which would be 2008.
but... uh... wha...

I'm going to my friends party, and she's a cheerleader for the Stamps. She told me that most of the squad is going to be there. I am very excited.

You actually make a good point. New Year's Eve = Eve of the New Year, which in this case is 2008.
Although it's off-topic, I love discussions like this.

I don't believe in calendars either.
Ha ha, yeah, actually I am going to the Flames/Canucks game, but it'll be over, what, 3 hours before midnight? So I will likely have to make plans for later.
I can't believe there is a bar in Calgary called Snatch. That is awesome.

That there is. But its kinda dirty, lots of the people get in that I want nothing to do with, the acoustics are really echoy, its seedy and its too wide open.

it still sucks that the Flames/Habs game isn't every year on New Year's Eve.

Pretty gross. Way to many people get in there. The capacity is crazy high.

I'll be honest, I've never been there, but my buddy said it sucked. He said it was a hole!
