Getting a Tatttoo
So 6 months ago, on my 28th birthday I got my first tattoo and I love it. I have since been thinking of getting another one but I am stumped on what to get. I would like something meaningful and symbolic to me, but am having a hard time even knowing where to begin.
Any suggestions?

Why would you ask on CP then. Tattoos should always be a personal choice and shouldn't matter what other people say/think.

It's not that I care about what people think. I'm just trying to get an idea of what has inspired others.

all my tattoos have their meanings behind them. i've never been one to want a tattoo and look for inspiration. i've always thought it should be the other way around but that's just my $0.02 (CAD)

Interesting take on things. That in itself was helpful advice.

People you've loved and lost, important events in life, things that symbolize the path you've been on. Kids, pets... your hobbies, your passions. Think about what you most love, or what taught you the most about yourself and go from there.

I think you should get one that shows a busty mermaid wearing a "tragedy" mask, making out with Satan wearing a "comedy" mask, with the word "MOM" written below, and a flaming skull shooting across the sky in the background.
Or, how about a bashful, blushing unicorn with a speech bubble that says "Even Unicorns Get Gas"
Or Skeletor boning She-ra.
Or a clown crying.
Or the Tick yelling "SPOON!!"
Or a Yin-Yang symbol where some of the black from the dark half of the symbol is bleeding out and collecting in a pool below it.
Or just the words "This is a Lie."
Those will at least make people think.

Shouldn’t the decision making process for getting a tattoo be
Something is very meaningful and symbolic to you so you decide to have it on your body the rest of your life not the other way around?
