New Youngster Enters the Mansion
Kings Add Talented Youth
Newest Member of the Kings - Kyle Turris
Los Angeles, CA - In what was a busy day for the Los Angeles Kings, a hasty late night press conference was conducted to announce the latest Kings acquisition, Kyle Turris. In exchange for the pickup a package of talented youth including Stewart, Cann and a draft pick were sent to Florida.
"It was a move demanded by new Assistant Coach Jules Winnfield. Apparently he had coached him in youth hockey and thought he might be a good addition to our club. Who am I to argue with Jules?" said GM Sra at the press conference. "We have seen some tape on the kid and think he will be a good player in the league one day. We had to give up some talented youngsters to make this possible and hope this move will pan out."
Note - Draft picks were involved in the deal seeing a 3rd round choice heading to Florida and a 4th round choice returning to Los Angeles. Coach Winnfield earned a 3 year endorsement deal with McDonalds. Turris will be housed in the Mansion with Anisimov in order to acclimate himself to the city.

On the surface this is a really bad deal for Florida. A superstar prospect for 2 prospects - neither of which have anywhere near the upside of Turris.
I don't get it.

This deal is one sided in my opinion. I agree with Grant. Would like to hear from Martin on this trade.

W T F... This deal is horrible from the Florida standpoint. Martin must be getting free passes to the mansion or something because this is not the only time he sent promising top notch prospects to LA for next to nothing.
Great deal for the Kings!

Breaking news! If you look at the press release picture, Turris is in a Coyote's jersey. Kyle has left LA and joined Phoenix.
KG or Jiri, can you please move Turris from LA's roster to mine. Thank you! There is no need to followup with Jim, just move him.
Hey Martin, does it hurt to sit down today??? Ouch!

Good god, where do you get the balls to even make an offer like that in the first place, let alone con someone into that trade. This is Leeman for Gilmour-esque. Risebrough award type material.

How many drinks did Martin have at the mansion before agreeing to this one? Just a nasty deal. Why trade a big time prospect for a couple more prospects?

Just making a deal. Oh well more prospect in the cupboarod, better round pick this year. All players are a few year away so likely will move around the league a few more times

OK well the league has decided (and have already informed both GMs) that we will be reviewing future deals between these two organizations and reject anything grossly unfair.

I don't see this trade that unfair. Everyone is basing there opions on this trade on the fact Turris is "suppost" to be a franchise player. He hasn't proven anything yet. Stewart is a 1st rounder who's playing minor pro right now and may have a chance to be called up this season. Cann is a 2nd rounder and a starting goalie in the OHL. Not that bad in my opinion as I was never really sold on Turris since he wasn't playing hockey in the WHL. Guess we'll have to see how he develops at college

12 points in the first 4 games is not a bad start to that development!

Yeah I dont see it as that bad of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. I think Turris will be good but Stewart is not exactly garbage, as well as some add ons that have been made. Same thing was said about the VanRyn deal. He has been performing pretty well in Florida.
Other GMs who are upset or baffled by some trades I make may want to take a look in the mirror before they start pointing fingers.
With that said, I am fine if the league would like to review any trades made between LA and Florida. There is no bad intentions or ill will between the two clubs or the league.

I think people think it's bad more so because of the kind of trade it is. It's not necessarily about the value of each prospect, because that can be debated all day. It's about trading a blue chip prospect for 2 solid-not-great prospects. Tough to figure out a way that it benefits the team giving up the better prospect.
