It looked like Cutler made the decision on his own to put the ball away and run on 3rd down, dumb idea.

Only because the RB made some amazing dekes and got to the 3. He should have been stuffed for a loss. If you play for the tie at home, you will lose.
They're that scared of Favre that they can't give him 50 seconds and 80 yards? 1st priority, get into the end zone!

I'll talk about it. There were a gazillion penalties in this game.

Yeah, unless he gets in...but there wasn't much there.

With Denver's running game, a run in the red zone on 2nd down is never a bad play call.

Well, it prevented them from being inside the 5 and forced them to kick the first FG.
Worst holding call I have ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating.
Changed the game.

It wasn't playing for the tie, it was ensuring they wouldn't lose in regulation.
And yes giving Favre 50 seconds is a bad idea ... and he'd only need about 45 yards.

Why didn't they just run it on 2nd and 3rd down then... QB draw was silly.

There was nothing there. Both OLB's had outside contain for the run. In fact now that I think about it, all 4 LB's stayed home within 5 yards of the LOS.

Again, that wasn't a called play. That was Cutler panicking.

I just saw a reply of the OT ball, is Dre Bly on drugs, the WR would have pushed off with 100lbs of pressure to slow him down as much as he did. Maybe he'll give back some of the contract he was wetting the bed about .... ahhh I'm going to bed, I got nothing good to say.

It's smart football, gunslingers lose 9 of 10 times. That play to bleed the clock down is very common.

Wonder what the called play was.
And why is Cutler not following the called play. He's not Elway you know

Very common for losing teams.
Get the ball in the end zone and win the game!

Possible. But I don't think Cutler, being pretty much a rookie, is in a position to improvise. He could have thrown the ball away. At least then they wouldn't have had to rush the FG onto the field like a fire drill!
