What's new on TSN?...Cup-Stacking competitions!
...well I actually don't know how new it is, it's the first time I've seen it on TSN though. I also didn't know if this belonged in this thread or the off-topic, but I figured its on TSN, so this one would work.
Anyways, there are different age divisions ranging from 7-18 years old, and they compete for either their schools, countries, or just for themselves. The competitions are in the forms of relay teams, doubles, singles, everything. Doubles is kinda tricky. One person uses their left hand and the other uses their right hand. You really gotta have coordination in this one.
How it works is there are either two or three different size pyramid stacks that can be made, and there are 12 plastic cups altogether. Sometimes the size of the stacks can alternate within the competition as well. So for example, if one time it's 3-6-3, the next time it can be 6-6. After that it's pretty simple - the person/team with the quickest time stacking and unstacking the pyramid stacks wins.
It's crazy though, these kids are very fast. In fact, this 7 year old boy said he practices 4 hours a day. And there's actually a good size crowd for these things too. It's probably mostly parents watching their kids but still...those crowds are as big as the ones at the spelling bee.
First spelling bees...then poker...now cup-stacking competitions. What's next?
