The Rules Of Comedy:

1. Write your own material.
2. If you have to steal material, do not steal from Cosby.
3. If you have to steal from Dr. Hucstable, don't do it on a TV special.
4. If you have to do it on a TV special... shoot yourself.
5. If you have to shoot yourself, make sure it's not one of those guns that shoots out a "BANG" flag. Those aren't funny.

I've never heard of this guy until all this commotion of him stealing bits came up. But now since I know his name he's seems to be pretty popular. I saw an add for him on The Comedy Network and I bought a DVD package of South Park and it came with an advertisement leaflet for one of his DVD's and also had an ad in the DVD itself of the same stand up DVD. So he is not really "unknown" as some people painted him earlier, so I understand why it's a big deal.

Now everyone will have him under a microscope. Everyone of his jokes will be checked to see if it is original or not. Which frankly isn't going to go well for him, as it must be impossible to come up with a 100% original set. Some jokes will always resemble some other comedians out there.

Apparently now theres proof that Dane Cook has been stealing material from Louis CK.

If you go through Youtube theres actually alot of comedians/radio personalities bashing Cook for stealing jokes. I discovered Louis CK on Sirius Raw Dog and thought he was just priceless, and I've never liked Dane Cook, I just dont think he's funny. After learning about this I like Louis and hate Dane Cook even more.

Good for him if his goal was notoriety and money. But give it a year or two and he will be a D-list celebrity and in a decade no one will remember him for anything expcept being a crook.

I heard about this on Maxim Radio a few months ago...pretty hard to refute the evidence for Cook.

I don't think Dane is terrible. He is pretty funny at times. But also way too over bearing and annoying at times. His comedy is easily replaced, so I wouldn't care if he fell off the face of the planet.

Yep, he was great. I'm actually using his cd case as a coaster right now as I type this believe it or not. Hedberg and Hicks had a refreshing view of the world.
