each 'no good' thread makes the Edmonton is No Good thread a little less good.

We're no good tonight, since Pavelec is in net.

Nothing anyone does anywhere on earth makes the Oilers and their no good thread any less no good.

The Jets' start tonight was no good. Long way to go in this game, but if a terrible Arizona team can do us a solid, that would be a bonus.

IMO Winnipeg will be a non issue come spring (same could be said about the flames) but I will be shocked if two of Calgary, Dallas, Minny or Colorado don't finish in front of them.

The jets are still pretty irrelevant to me. Kinda like the sens. Would love to beat them for a playoff spot this year though

Their fans are annoying, but perhaps I'd classify it more as Canucks-fan-lite annoying... Maybe it's because many of them can't stand the heat here and don't leave the frozen sh*tsicle that is Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is mediocre. But the city is no good and Jets fans are no good.
From the idiot who only updated the "Canadian teams compare" standings after Jets wins, or guaranteeing playoffs after hiring Paul Maurice, or getting overexcited after a decent run by their backup goalie this year.
So yeah. This thread can stay.

Wow. The Jets really channeled their inner-Oilers with that first period.

I don't agree with this thread. Dunno much about either the city or the fans, but I like that there is an NHL team in Winnipeg, and for that reason alone I want them to reach a moderate level of success.

Wasn't there already an attempt at a Winnipeg is No Good thread a while ago?
As for the Jets, I don't hate them, but I don't really like them. They're not as annoying as the Oilers, Canucks, or Habs, but more annoying than the Senators and Leafs (slightly ashamed to admit it, but other than JVR and Reimer the Leafs don't really annoy me). They're fans aren't all that annoying, and it would be nice if they could make it one of these years for them.
That said, I think they'll crash and burn pretty hard with all these injuries.

If this is going to become the unofficial wildcard playoff chase thread, it is worth noting that the Avs are coming on hard right now. They and Dallas are starting to become big problems.

Playoff chances for COL are 3.4 %.
DAL is 15.9%.
They have big holes to get out of.

I remember when I used to hate the Jets during the 80s. Now? Meh. When it comes to likeability E Kane doesn't do them any favors though.

They really had the Flames number in the 1980s. Seemed to give us more trouble than the Oilers did.

We were lucky in 1987. IIRC, the Jets game winning goal in Game 2, came a 1/2 second after the period ended, but they mistakenly counted it anyway.

That's the thing. They are already getting out of those big holes. At this point, they really have only small holes to climb out of, sitting five and four points out respectively with the Jets, Flames and Kings all sputtering in front of them.

4-5 points can mean a lot at this point in the season. It does not allow for any slides. COL has to play 10 games over .500 to have a better than 50% chance at the playoffs. I'd say they are done. DAL needs 9 games over .500.
Flames need 6-7 over .500.
Certainly a winning streak or losing streak by any of these teams will change the math, but no one can afford inconsistency. The teams that get in will be "hot" going into the playoffs.

I viewed the Jets, probably the same way the Oilers fans viewed the Flames around 1986. The Flames were much better and should not have had such a hard time beating them yet the Jets brought their 'A' game when they played the Flames. The Flames weren't as good as the Oilers in the early going, but they strived to beat them more than any other team.

Yeah, that was my point in its entirety. These two teams are streaking, and are pulling themselves into the conversation. Pretending they are done, or that they don't matter is foolhardy.
