Nobody argued that Zadorov is an amazing player. Or even that the team would be substantially worse without him. Just that they'd rather have Zadorov in the lineup each night instead of Desimone or Oesterle...which is 100% a true and fair statement regardless of the results since the trade.

Maybe we need to bring Spurs back...between Dino7c (Always 100% positive with an inability to admit that any Ex-Flames might be an okay player once they are traded) and Spurs (Always 100% negative with an inability to admit that any Flame might actually be good) the force was balanced.

Seems like since Spurs was banned the balance was lost and Dino7c picked up the habit of arguing with himself and constantly pretending like somebody made a point that they actually didn't make.

If dino has an opportunity to say I told you so he's taking it and if he doesn't have an opportunity he will just say it anyway. Even when it's something as bold as the departure of a bottom pairing dman not having a drastic impact on the teams performance.

I don’t think Dino’s wrong about the Flames missing Zadorov. At the end of the day that’s his main argument, and he’s right. And it should give people pause for other players and whether or not you should sink huge dollars into people.

What’s the delta between a guy like Zadorov and DeSimone or Gilbert. Prob less that what the contracts suggest? Truthfully the Flames haven’t really missed him. And for his agent to say he was the best D is hilarious.

Guy is getting 5/6 minutes in Vancouver now, Flames are improved

I mean the day after his agent tweet he cost the Flames the winning goal, D actually seems more stable, especially of late

I have to admit, I was one of the posters trumpeting about our lack of size and toughness, but I've been very pleasantly surprised with the battle and pushback this team shows. I thought we would be in trouble without Zadarov, but I actually think we're fine now. We might not have optimum personnel on the team, but I like this coaching staff and the leadership in the room, they stand up for each other on the ice.

Still think more size and toughness wouldn't hurt, though.

Zadorov to me was always a high event player. Major swings between the bad and the good. Ideally you want your bottom pairing guys to be barely noticeable. They are probably a little better off sacrificing his odd big hits or big shot for a less volatile defenseman in his spot.

I like this. But in your scenario does Tanev re-sign with Calgary because he wins a Cup with Toronto? Because that would be hard to stomach.

I am going to go with my Byram hunch, Lindholm and Tanev to Colorado (50% retained) in exchange for Byram, 2024 1st, Johansson, Foudy.

I actually agree with you once in a while and at a minimum, I take the time to read what you say. How long are you going to keep arguing with something that was said in the game after Zadorov was traded? I hope you keep to your word and “leave it at that”. No one else seems to be bringing him up.

I’d like Byram and trading those two for him makes sense. IMO you’re not getting all those extras plus him for two rentals though. And I’d still be ok with it.

seemed relevant, look above people are discussing it. I wasn't meaning to call anyone out or insult anyone and that is why I didn't quote

I am wrong all the time it's no biggie...it's just good to use past results to make educated moves in the future.

I'm not all that worried about moving any of the UFAs to be honest. If they were so great we have to move heaven and earth to sign them why is the team .500.

Zary and Pop come up and are two of the best players, more of that please.

I personally would sign Hanifin though but trade would be a close 2nd
