That was for the Lightning
Looks like Toronto has their 2024 1st but not their 2025 1st.

The fact that the Flames have everything that the contending teams seem to want is a massive reason why Conroy should strike this season.
This season? Just a blip. This lil guy? Don't worry about this lil guy. Look at the big picture!
One season -> maximize Flames picks, maximize a sellers market (for what we have). Lovely times! Give fans a nice tease of what's to come (Zary, Coronato, Wolf, Pelletier, Pospisil).
Lovely days.

Tanev will be worth a great haul at the deadline, but there’s like a 30% chance he could be injured.
All the trades better start with a first rounder if any cap dump is coming back. Tre shouldn’t have any problem attaching a first with a cap dump.

A 1st for Tanev would be amazing value, even if they have to stomach some roster fat.

Unless he improved, Klingberg isn't getting a second. In fact, he' s so bad the Leafs might have to give a sweetener to get rid of him.

Don’t think TO has 1st round pick 2024. Not il 2026 I think.

Other than Huberdeau, I am not retaining on anyone that isn’t expiring this year at this point.

They have their 24 1st. Capfriendly and puckpedia say so.

Gonna have to get used to Huberdeau in Flames Jersey I think. That contract is unmovable, even if he was playing like he did in FLA.
It's structured prohibitively

It'd be hilarious if Klingberg came to CGY after his shenanigans in the playoffs against the Flames.

Klingberg was traded for a 4th last year. Calen Addison for a 5th yesterday.
Teams like their defensemen to actually...you know, defend.

I thought that Kane (Patrick) was planning to sign in Edmonton at league minimum so he could play with the almighty Mcdavid. Don't see Oilers in his list of potential teams now.

I think trading Markstrom now would be a smart move.
The league is full of teams with goalie problems. I think I heard on the radio today and 13 teams are playing their backups or 3rd goalies tonight because everyone is injured.
One of the games is 3rd goalie vs 3rd goalie.
Marky has played much better this year then last but it's not going to move the needle enough for this team anyway.
If the market is strong and there's teams that need a goalie, now could be the time.

I don't think any team will offer anything more than a similar $6M project of a player for Markstrom right now.
He's better than last year, and it's great to see him make the occasional big save. That said, he's still below .900 sv%. Teams still remember that he had a terrible year last year. His goals saved above expected are around 30-35th in the league, and he only has 2 wins in 9 starts.

If there is a team with an albatross 2 year contract that they want to move out, and could use markstrom, I think that you make that move just for roster construction reasons. Let vladar take the lions share of starts this season and next, in order to shelter wolf, and plan for a quick two year turnaround of the team with some roster flexibility as the acquired players contract expires.
