I could probably add more if I sat down and looked it up. Not all of these players panned out obviously, but all of them came in with either a high ceiling or had some really good years at a very young age. Treliving built a hell of a team. This had nothing to do with Treliving not having patience or not building "properly"...he built a really good team that was one of the best in the west for a couple years for sure. The team just didnt get the job done. It happens. Not every team wins the cup. They didnt. Now they're moving on. Its how hockey works.
Treliving inherited a couple of these players. And while I don’t consider him an awful GM, a lack of patience was a problem IMO.

In 10 years, you should have a pretty good list of players that came through the organization. Valimaki though?

With the players we are making available, I might be inclined to say the next week is the first step to “franchise repairing”
Gaudreau walking for nothing was the franchise altering moment

I think Tanev at 50 percent for Dellandrea + a conditional 2nd that could become a 1st based on playoff success conditions would be a solid trade. Even if it was for a 2nd and Dellandrea I’d be happy but I think Conroy could push for a conditional 1st.

Don’t underestimate Dellandrea either, he’s been playing down the lineup in Dallas that is stacked up front with lots of veterans. If he came to Calgary and found some PP and top 6 time I think you could see him playing up more to his potential. Still young, righty, can play center and wing, lots to like.

Last time we made a trade with Dallas for one of their first rounders it worked out pretty well. Let’s hope history repeats itself.

Considering how close they were last time to trading Markstrom and him sitting out, every time he starts a game you can assume the Flames aren't close to trading him.

Dellandrea has never been a scorer. He’ll be the next Curtis Lazar

But your proposal is fine conditional first + is a good deal for Tanev

A Kris Russell type deal with Dallas would be good, except someone better than Brett Pollock!

Just looked at who the draft pick ended up being, ugh lol, I think that year too Dallas lost in game 7 otherwise it would have turned to a 1st.

Definitely agree with the concept for sure, Dallas seems like a great fit for Tanev and there’s history there in terms of trading potential between Calgary and Dallas.

Curtis Lazar is still playing regular minutes in the league. I'll take it.

For the record, Brett Pollock seems like a Cole Schwindt. Decent draft pedigree but didn’t do enough in D+1 or D+2 to show any chance of being a top 9 in the bigs.

Go Stankoven, really wish Stromgren was Stankoven lol, kid is a beauty. Happy to see Stromgren growing a little bit more in the AHL, but still.
