I propose we either close this thread down, or switch it to discussing Gaudreau's on ice play.
He had 3 assists last night, but I haven't seen any of them. Does anyone have the highlights? It looks like 2 came on the PP, and 2 of the assists were secondary. I wonder how involved he was in the play? All in all I'm glad he's doing well so far.

If you are allowed to say, would you say Johnny wanted to go East while his wife would have liked to stay?
That certainly changes the fans narrative.

And the mod contacted these inner circle sources right? Dude, you are so full of crap. All I have seen from you for years is personal attacks. Anyhow I am done here, the trolls are out as usual ruining another thread.

Yes, that is what he said which is laughable. Yes, the guy who has said he wanted to stay for years (squiggs says that's a lie though according to his "sources") and has a chance to leave a hockey legacy instead went against his new wife's wishes who happens to be from the Philly area because she wanted to stay. Even funnier is people actually bought that crap and thanked his post. I have some tropical beachfront property to sell those people in Antarctica too.

The guy who calls everyone else trolls just quoted himself...but I suppose there's only a 1% chance that he, himself, is a troll. And he has inside information on that.

Yeah, tough call to make as far as who is telling the truth.
Do we go with the guy who said Johnny might go and was right, while being a generally respectful poster?
Or do we go with the guy who said without a doubt Johnny was staying and was wrong, makes misogynistic comments about a player's wife, accuses everyone of trolling/personal attacks whenever they disagree with them, calls everyone else liars and rubes, and is still doing that now?
Tough call really. Perhaps a challenge too great for any typical man of reason, even.

This is straight from the letter.

Fans are passionate, I get that.
So I understand both the being hurt that a player left angle, and conversely the defend at all costs angle on the other side.
Personally I'm never about the players on the roster to that degree. Fan of the team, hope they win, get excited when they make good moves, but don't feel any particular attachment to any one player.
So yeah I'm with those that can't believe this is still a topic. I moved on a long time ago. Was expecting a limp into a rebuild, and instead it's a rebuilt team that may be better suited to handle the Edmontons and Colorados (not the same don't worry, but I mean individual skill) of the league.
I'd say I wish him nothing but the best, but honestly I'm not even all that concerned about that!

Show me, in this thread, where I have personally attacked you. Again, I don't care if you don't believe who I know. I'll still sleep well, even when I am staying at one of their houses. I don't have to lie about who I am, or what my job is, to try and impress people on the internet. Whenever I have some information that I feel is relevant, I pass it on. You are free to not believe it any time you wish. In this case, you are 100% wrong about the role Gaudreau's wife played in the negotiations.

There were a ton of "Gaudreau" jerseys at the dome last night. He was well loved here.
Too bad he ruined his legacy in Calgary with that absurd choice to choose the BJs and that ridiculous press conference.
I guess that's why he is Johnny Hockey and not Johnny Diplomat.

Again, for me, the saddest part when he left was thinking Johnny could have cemented himself as Flames royalty, and be just as beloved as Iggy or Lanny here. He could have broke team records, had his jersey retired, and probably get cheers wherever he goes in Calgary forever. But he chose not to. It's his right, but I guess if he's not sad about it, why should I be?
I will still love the time he spent in Calgary. I don't think I've followed a Calgary prospect from early on as much I did Johnny. From his draft year as some skinny kid that looks like he should be working at McDonalds, to his BC years, to his 8 years with the Flames. It was a good ride. Just wish it would have been longer.
That said, how Treliving completely revamped the team this summer has definitely taken all of the sting out. I'd argue the team is better built now, so I'm looking forward to bigger and better things for the Flames.

Personally, I think the burden of proof of a”source “ should be higher for a guy who makes derogatory comments towards players and their families. Hopefully the mods feel the same and can verify such information has been provided.

Wtf are you talking about? Nobody made "derogatory" remarks about anything. Typical social media drama.

Why should it even matter if his wife had a say in this anyways? They are a family, I am sure she has just as much say as he does where they live what house they live in etc, this isn't 1960.
