This thread is great! I need to listen to more good covers.

I tend to listen to bad covers, in other languages :P

Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" is amazing.

Gin & Juice by the Gourds

This one is so out of wack it has to be mentioned:

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Paul Anka

and of course the greatest cover of all

Phish has done a ton of great ones (at least in my opinion) over the years.

Beastie Boys - Sabotage

Rolling Stones - loving Cup

Will Smith - gettin jiggy with it

Dragged to a Tina Turner concert a few years back, she did a cover of The Beatles 'Help' as a Ballad....fantastic! Blew me away.

For the very obscure, After The Fire covering Falco's 'Der Komissar'.

For the slightly less obscure, Kate Bush doing Elton John's 'Rocket Man' (very different take on it, a little bizarre, but great).

Absolutely HATE the Gwen Stefani cover of Talk Talk's 'It's My Life' and the Gary Jules cover of Tears For Fears' 'Mad World'. I liked the originals so much better.

Hey...I don't think anyone said 'All Along The Watchtower'. Hendrix did his infamous version a year after Bob Dylan recorded it.
