For old times sake I'll throw in Faith by Limp Bizkit over the original George Michaels tune. Damn, beat to it. Oh well this is a different link so I'll leave it here.
Warning I think there is a shot of boobies in the crowd as the clip is from Woodstock.
Bruce Springsteen covering Tom Waits' Jersey Girl. Of the many, many Tom Waits covers out there, this is the best in my opinion. (Worst is Rod Stewart's cover of Downtown Train.)

Landslide by Stevie Nicks, covered by Smashing Pumpkins. I think the Dixie Chicks did a version of this song at one point, but the Pumpkins version is amazing.
Also, Jolene, by Dolly Parton, covered by the White Stripes. Great cover.

Although covering Zeppelin should be an executable offence here is a good one by Tool of No Quarter
And of course the greatest cover of all time...easily:
Here is a good link of the best and worst. The Who are subject to two of the ten worst covers, Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes and Hilary Duff - My Generation.
The time of his life when this was recorded really makes the song speak to me. It's interesting to me how the same lyrics can take on such different meanings when sung by two different people.

Oasis did a version of My Generation that was awesome (not as good as the original but a respectable cover.) Hilary Duff? What is the world coming too

I actually think the context of the songs is basically the same. Both had dealt with problems, both had drug abuse, both felt their lives felt a bit empty. It is basically an apology/if I had another shot song.
Within the context of The Downward Spiral I think TR's version basically means exactly the same thing as Cash's version.
