I was over the Moon about getting Monahan last year. If the Flames somehow walked away with Sam Bennett I'd be over the Cosmos: Staring Neil degrasse Tyson.

Yeah I think Bennett might not be the flashy pick he will be the best pick who contributes to winning hockey. Having a lineup full of centers that can play in the corners and the two way game will allow our talented wingers like Sven and Johnny to do their thing.

I think it's more likely Reinhart drops than Bennet. The Sabres need someone like Bennett to lead on the ice and sell tickets off the ice.

Which would make me pee in my pants. It's Reinhart or Bennett that's the Jones this year imo, which is why 4 is so huge.

It will be so interesting to see who the Oilers pick. If Bennett and Ekblad are both gone, I can't see them picking Reinhart because he's too similar to what they have, and he we fall to 4th. However, if Reinhart and Ekblad are both gone, I can't see them passing on Bennett. His grit is exactly what they need.

I admittedly haven't followed all the other guys as closely lately, but after watching Reinhart in the playoffs, I just don't see how this guy drops to 4th. Frankly, I don't see how he doesn't go #1.

You clearly arent a Reinhart fan, but Id be shocked if he goes after Bennett. He had a better regular season on a lower scoring team, has a better international pedigree and has arguably been the best CHL player period in the playoffs so far. The only thing Bennett has on Reinhart is that a single scouting service ranked him ahead of Reinhart while Reinhart is ranked higher on virtually every other list.
If either of them drops to 4, it wont be Reinhart.

Bennett made a masive push up the ranking in the second half of the season. He is the hot topic right now. But I also cannot see how Reinhart doesn't go top 2.

Reinhart seems to get no respect. What more can the kid do to establish himself as the top forward prospect. He played well in the wjc. Steady but not flashy (his game). He was easily the best player on the ice at the prospects game. He has nhl size, speed, and pedigree. His smarts are through the roof. His brothers both improved a lot after their draft year. He destroyed the hitmen. He is the number one forward prospect IMO.

“@RogMillions: #Flames President of Hockey Ops. Brian Burke will attend tuesday's NHL Draft Lottery. NYI won today. A loss would mean CGY 27th in league”

Would the Oliers really take Draisaitl over Bennett?

Well, Draisaitl's size would be the deciding factor for a team stocked with shire folk like the Oilers, that and they'd like to upgrade their centers as well. Gagner isnt panning out as well as they had hoped. If Ekblad is gone I could surely see the Oil take Draisaitl.

There's rumours MacT really likes him, so there's a chance. That's why 4 was so important for us.

Stinks that we had to lose to the stinking Nucks to get the 4th spot but eh. Bring on Bennett.
