Reading a writeup in the paper this weekend, about TB, and the guy said Tara has 3 emotions throughout the season,, terrified, pissed off, horny... terrified, pissed off, horny... repeat.

I am not a fan of all the side plots. It sucks, the next book in the series was one of my favorites but they have effed all the characters up so much I don't know if they are even going to be able to do it.
I really don't like how they changed Sams character. They really screwed up Hot Shot. None of this garbage dreamworld with the fairies happen in the books.
The only plus about the season finale was Tara driving away. Please let us never have to see her again.

Sure is odd how Sookie never hears people's thoughts anymore...

For the last bunch of episodes she has been around vampires, but I agree she should have heard something from Alcide or Tara when she saw both of them. The last few episodes have seen very rushed, like they wanted to fit a bunch of ideas in before the finale.

This is exactly what i said to my girlfriend when watching it. They almost killed the show (for me anyways) with the painful Mary-Ann season 2 debacle, then Season 3 got off to a great start.
Now the last 2 episodes were totally rushed, it's HBO's most watched show since the Sopranos, you would think they would give it a few more episodes a season to play it out properly.
And god damn I hate Tara.

Does anyone actually like Tara? She isn't hot, she is always pissed off, that quivering lip wants me to punch me tv, and her side-plots are always so stupid and boring.

ya the biggest problem is the side plots they have
I think this season was the worst, I can't say Season 2 was because the first 8 or 9 episodes were great, the Vampires in Dallas and Jason with the fellowship were both great story lines I thought. It did fall apart at the end with Maryanne just doing the same thing over and over
But this year there were just too many story lines that were useless and for the most part not entertaining, Sam and his family, Jason and Crystal and now Jason and Hotshot, Lafayette and Jesus, anything to do with Tara except when Franklin was around, Arlene's baby, Jessica and Hoyt
Not one of those had me in any type of suspense, they need to involve the supporting characters more with the main plot line, and I really hope Tara left forever that would be the biggest improvement the show could make
in the US on their HBO the creator appeared after the credits and said
Quote:
"True Blood" creator and producer Alan Ball took the unusual step Sunday night to follow the typically apocalyptic third season finale to "True Blood" with his own message, in which he faced the camera after the credits had rolled to thank fans, update the show's progress and give a glimpse at what's next.
"We are going to meet some witches. We are going to meet some other supernatural creatures maybe. There's going to be a lot of upheavals in the vampire world and the politics of vampires," Ball said. "We will find out exactly where Sookie went."
In the closing moments Sunday (this may be a spoiler), she took the hand of another supernatural being, having thrown out the two vampires in her life. Lots of other action remained unfinished.
"So it's really going to be exciting, fun, crazy, unexpected ride that's going to be more and more of what we love about 'True Blood,'" he said.
He thanked fans for their support, and said, "I look forward to bringing the show back next summer."

Jessica and Hoyt is a fantastic plot line. But that is because Jessica is smoking hot, that's it.
Arlene needs to die as well.

I think she's very hot, but that doesn't excuse her brutal acting. She needs to calm her eyes down, they're always bugging out like she's a human cartoon.

I find Hoyt annoying though. He's so one-dimensional and boring. Actually, I think a lot of the supporting characters are like that...

I wish Franklin would have drained her. Then leave her on the side of the highway. God I hate her.

I agree....way too many side-plots that just aren't interesting enough.
I much prefered Lafayette's character before this Jesus guy (hot as he may be) showed up with his witchcraft. And now the whole seeing things drama - I just can't get into it.
Who cares that Hoyt is staying with Jessica and wants to marry her? Where's the drama there?
Who cares that Arlene is having baby daddy issues?
Am I supposed to care about a bunch of raggedy misfits? Why is Jason supposed to care? What purpose did Crystal's character serve?
Tara is having some sort of epiphany that she needs to change her life? Starting with a terrible hair cut? Again, who cares?
More Eric....please.

It's not the acting, she's a fine actor. It's the writing/directing. She hasn't been given anything else to do this season.

Agreed. She, like most of the secondary characters, are extremely boring. Anything with Hoyt puts me to sleep. Arlenne and Tara add nothing to the show. Heck, even Bill has become pretty boring. I liked the first season, but since then, the writers seem to have opted for introducing one mythical creature after another rather than actually developing the characters that it already has. As a result, you've got way too many secondary characters all following rushed plot lines that no one really cares about. If it wasn't for society's weird fascination with vampires, I think this show would be in danger of being cancelled.

That was kind of a boring season finale, not like the "kill them all" season finale I just watched.
But, anyway, I hope that preachers super hot wife is going to show up again, since he is back in the picture the last few episodes.
Still remember that line of Jason's to the preacher. "I believe I already have been to Heaven, and it was inside your wife", or something close to that.

Thing that also bugged me was Sookie and Bill. They went from 'let's get married' to 'I hate you' to 'let's make up' to 'I like Eric' to 'I HAAAATTTEEE you'.
Ugh. Not sure if I'm going to stick with this show. Time to move onto Mad Men.

.This show is so queer, my wife watches it whilst I cringe at the acting, plot and characters. It's like a guilty pleasure for 16 year old girls. How can you guys watch this?!

A guilty pleasure of mine for sure, but this show is going to jump the shark this season. Hopefully they can keep it interesting. But too much happens too quickly, and then the writers have to come up with even bigger and crazier plots twists.
Pretty much every character has a power of some sort, which makes it kinda boring.
It would have been a lot better I think if the focused on the politics and inner fighting of the vampires in a world where some of them want to exist with people and some don't. The parallel between racist/homophobic attitudes and the acceptance of this new species was an interesting idea they let die too.
Then they can splash in a a plot twist here and there with the other characters, if they want, but no reason to have new information on every single character every 2 or 3 episodes.
