It would be the Flames throwing in the 1st round pick in a Barkov for Gaudreau trade. I'd do the trade straight across in a heartbeat and put Bennett on the wing.

I would agree with you, his play has been less than impressive and definitely deserves a lot of the flack he's getting, but the trade proposals are a bit silly if you ask me.

Gaudreau is having an off... 45 games or so and people are talking about trading the guy?? I'm happy with our centre depth -- Why trade for Barkov when you have a really good 1 - 2 in Backlund and Monahan who play similar games and Bennett who is 20 and will figure it out?? Players with Johnny's toolbox are somewhat a rare commodity still though they are growing... I wouldn't be so quick to trade him even in a deal that is fair value like Johnny and pick for Barkov because I think Johnny could turn into a game breaker more so than most. This is only his 3rd year guys and first true slump of his career... Give him a bit of a break maybe?

Watching Iginla again today - he is nowhere near as slow as some would have you believe. The Avs are hot garbage, but I'll call it right now - if he comes here prior to the deadline, or signs in the off-season (he has another year in him) - he's going to perform.
...holy crap is this Avs team hot garbage though. Comeau, Colborne, Bourque, Soderberg, Mitchell...if you think having to watch Chiasson screw up a line is frustrating - try having a Chiasson or TWO on every single line you put on the ice. This team is hot trash.

Soderberg doesn't belong in that list. He's a really good player, I think he's just a victim of the dumpster fire Avs. Like Iginla, Landeskog, Duchene and even MacKinnon.
