Fake news! Why do you tease us so!

This thread is severely lacking in E1, E2, E3, E4 and E5s. Boo!

Eric Engels @EricEngels
Also, it appears Alex Galchenyuk is very, very likely to get traded. Strong possibilities for a defenceman to come back the other way.

Galchenyuk for Brodin ?

I think Galchenyuk would return someone better offensively than Brodin. Maybe even Trouba.

This would be a very poor trade for Montreal.

1 for 1 yes. But there are ways to even out the trade value (e.g. Minnesota including Coyle, picks, or prospects).

Crazy to think that Brodin is still only 23 - feels like he has been around forever.

I actually think him and Brodie would look great on a pairing together.

Giordano - Hamilton
Brodin - Brodie

Let Brodie play his favored right side.

I don't understand why Montreal is so gung ho about running Galchenyuk out of town unless he's said he's going to bail when UFA.

Move Brodie back up with Gio otherwise that's a play by play nightmare.

I wonder if Montreal gets into the shake up that's going to happen in Colorado.

Brodin is a possession black hole.

I would absolutely not give our 1st round pick for Brodin.

Brodie + 2017 1st round pick for Galchenyuk and Brodin is terrible value.

That would have to be a huge friggin' + in the Brodie/Galchenyuk deal.

Do people keep trying to armchair GM away key pieces of our core because they want change just for the sake of change? Or is it because there are nice young pieces shuffling around the league this off season and they're JELLY that the Flames don't have expendable assets to get involved?

Unless someone wants out of here and has asked to be dealt, you probably aren't going to see the following players moved:

Monahan
Backlund
Bennett
Gaudreau
Tkachuk
Lazar (yes, believe management is high on this kid)
Giordano
Brodie
D. Hamilton

I'd probably add Ferland, Frolik and Jankowski to the list also, as players you'd have a very difficult time getting Treliving to part with.

I'm armchair GM'ing because I'm bored and it's what fans do for ####s and giggles when they're bored.

331 games for a 23 year old is a lot, and he's also established. Just had his career season points wise and based on age is still getting better. It would definitely be Galchenyuk for Brodin and more, but Brodin was very successful beside Weber's former linemate Ryan Suter. It's not like the more has to be colossal.
