You do not pay the server's wage.

I would definitely say if I pay my server even as low as 10%, I am paying my server's wages and I'd only pay that low if the service is crappy.

For example, one waitress REFUSED to give back one of my friend's $9 in change said she didn't have a change bank. You cannot steal, that's not OK. She was fired because of *MY* COMPLAINTS IDIOT!! YOU ARE STUPID, YOU REALLY ARE!!

You are not the server's boss.

I am if they EXPECT THAT TIP AT THE END I SURE THE HELL AM. If they don't want the tip, then no I am not their boss, but I sure can get them to lose their job as I have 2 other servers besides the one I mentioned above.

What your tip is, is an enhancement to the wage their actual, real boss (or rather, his company) pays them.

NO, because with taxes taken out, most servers online claim that they have a *ZERO* pay check after taxes are taken out, LITERALLY. SO NO, they don't get a wage from their employer to keep. They have to pay it to the government their entire paycheck.

There are things that they can do try to butter you up and get a better wage enhancement...or if they don't care (or, from the sounds of it, have ever served you before) they are not required to treat you like royalty and hope you reward them with what you deem a fair tip.

They are IF they want that good tip and they want to keep their jobs, YES, THEY ARE! YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THIS, WRONG!! I may have even gotten a 4th server fired that I don't know, because I don't go there anymore with the numerous issues that we had at a particular restaurant. I definitely at least got her reprimanded for telling me I had to remind her about my order. You don't tell the customer they have to do SQUAT. That's your job as a server, NOT MINE once I place my order. She was too lazy to WRITE things down even.

Why would anyone care about you when you obviously go out of your way to make peoples day miserable. If you want good service be friendly, no one wants to put up with some sourpuss with an attitude problem for the possibility that they could get a 5 dollar tip. The five dollars isn't enough of an incentive to make someone respond to your every whim and regardless it isn't part of their job description and frankly they can get the same tip from just about every other table, except they won't have to put up with a raging bitch who attempts to get their friends fired.

I don't have an attitude problem and I am not a sourpuss. I come into the restaurant thinking the glass is half full that things will go well or at least DECENT, NOT that I am going to have many things go wrong or something major go wrong. WHO would go out to eat if you thought something major or many things would go wrong, huh? If I knew ahead of time with a crystal ball that a server wasn't going to be good, I would know ahead of time to request to not get that person, but since we can't predict the future, we have to chance if if we want to go out to eat.

Where are you getting a "5" dollar tip, huh? Do you realize that our bills have been $40-80-$90 at times due to alcohol that we don't tip just $5 on that unless the service is crappy, huh?

Also, $5 on a $20 check IS more than 20%, it's 25%. Let's say if we get stuff that is cheaper and the bill is $20 $5 or $6 is A LOT for a $20 check.
