I’m excited to see Jean Smart hosting for the first time. The rest, except for Ariana, should be fun as well. The musical guests range from hard pass to hell yeah.
I thought this week was a pretty brutal way to start their 50th season. I had never heard of the host and I thought she was pretty awful. Weekend Update and Jelly Roll were excellent. The 15 minute cold open seemed a bit long and I'm generally a fan of Maya Rudolph.

I didn't mind it. The cold open had a lot of laughs, but the whole thing was non-cast. Jean Smart was great in what she had I thought.
They've really lost a lot of good talent the last few cycles and it's pretty bare now. Sherman, Yang, Thompson and Gardiner doing a lot of heavy lifting. Hernandez is good too. and Sherman was barely in this episode. I'd love it if they brought in Shane Gillis to play Trump for the cycle. Not that Austin Johnson is bad, he does a great tired, old Trump, but Gillis is just so comical with it.
He's so good; this was an all-time SNL skit from his last hosting

Have they announced if Dave Chappelle is going to be hosting the first post election episode again? Those have been the only SNL episodes I’ve made a point of watching over the last decade or so.
Can't wait to hear Dave's fresh take on trans people

Used to be able to watch SNL (and other series presumably) on Global's site next day as long as you were Canadian IP. Now I guess that's changed. Bummer.
Chapelle had a moment in time where he was incredible funny as a writer and actor, but I am struggling to come up with anything he has done since The Chapelle Show that remotely comes close to that it. Maybe whatever he has now is fine for SNL standards.

Still works for me.
