I was just going to suggest FAO Schwarz, but apparently it has been turned into a Toys'R'Us.

I missed this from a couple months ago but apparently the Toys R Us in Times Square has closed due to high rent. http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/toys...rent-1.3385576

I can vouch for this. Not only are the lines super long, but you have to go through airport style security, and the security staff when I went had lots of surly wanna be cops. I remember when I was on the way down going through one of the gift shops a lady near me commented to her friends that it would be nice if there was more room to look around, and one of the security guards actually called her out and pulled her to some back room. It was appalling.

So I don't recommend it.

I don't have kids but I'm jacking this thread to see whats good to check out in New York. I maybe able to catch at least one Yankee's or Mets game while I'm there. Will be going around June 11-16th. We maybe basing this trip around Food.

Some of these have been mentioned before but Staten Island Ferry is great, just don't hang around on Staten Island. Do like everyone else does and just get off the outbound ferry and hob right back on the inbound ferry.

My son's really into subways, and riding the subways are great fun, and someone else mentioned the subway museum in Brooklyn, which is cool. Highline Park stretches through the west side of Manhattan and is a great way to see the city from a different perspective. Natural History Museum of course, and MOMA too.
