Hawks are the best team in the West, possibly the league, likely a quick out there. Anaheim is also ridiculously difficult for our team to compete against in a seven game series.
Can't wait for playoffs and will be fully invested in hoping for an upset, but unfortunately our team kind of dropped into the two worst match up possibilities in the west. Too bad they couldn't have kept that incredible play up for another week or so. It is what it is now, though.
What would be cool, just for the sheer insanity of it, would be:
Anaheim loses to Chicago and LA. Finishes at 101 points, 41 ROW.
San Jose beats Edmonton and Calgary (whatever, rest guys). Finishes at 101 points, 45 ROW.
Edmonton loses to San Jose but beats Vancouver twice. Finishes at 101 points, 42 ROW.
Having all three teams in the pacific finish with 101 points would just be neat, is what I'm saying. And it's not even all that far fetched, looking at who's playing who.

We know that Stoner and Despres aren't coming back, so who's the 6th guy? Can Jacob Larsson come back from Sweden? Or do they bring up one or both of Welinkski / Megna?
I think D depth plays an enormous role in a 7-game series.

I want Anaheim. For the intensity. And, I feel February/March Flames can take anyone in the Pacific. We need a warm up round or two before facing Chicago.
I want Chicago in the first round. We need to get the Ducks out of our heads, and nothing will do that better than beating Chicago to remind us that we're actually a good team.
I'd prefer the Hawks. If its the Ducks there is one rule the Flames ought to remember: Don't get sucked in! Why haven't they figured this out yet? Think of how the Hawks beat the Ducks in the playoffs were they really that physical? No you gotta use your speed and play your game.
