Is it just me or is Weaselhead spelled wrong on the map? Stuff like that drives me crazy assuming the source of this is an official planning document. It's a multi-billion dollar project, let's pay attention to details fellas.

Is the plan to take out the lights on Sarcee then so that it forms a leg of the ring road, or how is that western section going to run from 16th ave down south? I'm not clear on that.

Look at the bottom of the picture and it says who created it.

It's 2 separate pieces of road, sorta. Stoney NW gets extended down to Glenmore, then Sarcee gets extended down through TTN to 22X. Glenmore widened between the new pieces of road.

So say I was driving from Stoney up by Royal Oak down to 22x. Is there another road for me to take, or am I headed down Sarcee?

You'd stay on Stoney across Trans Canada, past COP, down to a big interchange at Glenmore, head east on Glenmore to the new big interchange at Sarcee, then head south on the the new Sarcee extension down to 22X... another big interchange will be there.

Is there a detailed image of what 22X will look like when all is done.

There's some drawings (subject to change) buried somewhere on AB Trans' site, and a drawing of the interchange of SW Stoney/22X on 5seconds' blog, in his sig. I'm on my phone so finding links is a nightmare. Safe to estimate that 22X will be 6 or 8 lanes wide going by Spruce Meadows, probably 8, between Stoney and Macleod.

Which will essentially be, just don't exit off the road, and you'll get there.

Those show current concepts for 22X west of Deerfoot.

Yeah this is an important thing. I made it sound like it's something you have to navigate, but the interchanges will be built such that you can ignore all the signs, never change lanes, and you will be directed south across 16 Ave, to EB Glenmore, to SB Sarcee down to EB 22X.

I just wanted to make sure. With that map above I wasn't sure if the plan was to use Sarcee (which would be much less than ideal) or whether they had a whole new road to be built from 16th through highway 8. Sounds like they're doing it right though.

I'm the only one using "Sarcee extension" as of now but I want it to catch on so as to help establish geographically where the road is, and also to differentiate between it and the other piece of road extending Stoney NW down to Glenmore.

Looking at the 22X/Macleod mammoth reminds me of the increased load Macleod between 22X and the Deerfoot fork will be expected to take in the long term. They might want that to be free flow.

From the 1960s to the 1990s, Sarcee Trail Extension was the primary name of the road.
Since Sarcee is outdated (and from what I understand, is perhaps not well liked by Nation members) I wonder if they will just call it Tsuu T'ina Trail. Seeing as the First Nations theme is well established in the City, and the new (and actually original) name of our closest First Nation is not represented, it makes sense.
Actually, I wonder if it would be called Bull Head Trail, after one of the most respected Chiefs of the Tsuu T'ina. I like 'Bull Head Trail'. I know there is already a Bull Head road.

To save the "Cranston Crying" we will see 5-7 years from now; I may as well make sure everybody is aware of this now:
There will be no EB access from 6th street SW.
There will be no WB access from 14th street SW/ James McKevitt Rd.
However at least both of those streets are close to each other, and anybody using 14th SW can easily get to WB/NB from 162 ave.

I like Iron Shield Trail so much, I'm really hoping for that. Only issue I have with Tsuu T'ina Trail is the inevitable misspelling of it (seeing "Stony" already drives me crazy), and I bet we end up hearing things like, "slow go on the triple T just before 130th..." on the radio.

In that case i'm going to assume 194 ave will be completed from silverado to walden before eastbound access onto stoney is closed?
