I actually broke a tooth last month that I have to get a crown for, and they said it was weakened from grinding my teeth when I sleep. I actually broke it eating french fries of all things, but it must have been totally just sitting there ready to break.
Every new dentist I see asks the same thing, "Do you grind your teeth at night"? So they can tell from the wear patterns I guess.
I've been meaning to get a mouth guard for a while, my plan pays for it so might as well get the custom one. Now I regret not doing it.

Oh and I don't think it's stress related, up until this past year I'm pretty much a "whatever" kind of guy, not getting stressed about stuff.
This year though...

I hate falling asleep on the couch. I just woke up and I need to go outside to shovel the damn white stuff but I don't even want to get up, much less actually do physical activity.

Ah I love falling asleep on the couch. Only our downstairs one though. It's a beat up older cloth thing (leather isn't good for napping...to squeaky and sticky), but it's pretty much formed to my body from watching tv and playing video games. It's glorious. But I know what you mean about it not wanting to get up. It's too damn easy to stay on the couch.
Honestly, I think I'd be really pissed if this couch was ever thrown out. Sure it's in pretty rough shape but there's something about they way it conforms to your body...same goes with the old recliner that's down here. The foam is sticking out in a ton of places but it's way to comfortable to throw out!

How much did you pay for your crown?? I'm getting one on my molar tomorrow and I sense rape on the horizon.

I fall asleep on my sofa bed in my basement all the time... hell, I even bring down my comforter just to sleep here instead of my room... which is where I am right now...
but shoveling snow... is a giant PITA... especially during a snow storm like this where a few hours of snow fall = an hour of shoveling (I may be exaggerating a little bit)

I just went for a glass of egg nog poured too much into the glass. I tried to pour some back but it didn't really seem plausible that it would go in the carton and not on the floor. I then realized that there was too little egg nog to actually put it back in the fridge so now I'm drinking 600 mL of egg nog.

No idea, still waiting for the approval from the insurances.
But yeah $1000ish is what they said, less for gold and if things go well.

I'm paying up front and hoping my dental or HSA will cover it. I can't wait the 4-6 weeks for the approval because the tooth will be gone by then. Ugh $1000 for one dinky tooth. I kinda wish I was a shark so these bad boys just replaced themselves constantly. No brushing required, just scope.

Yeah I had to go to a place other than my usual dentist for mine as they didn't do mouthguards if I recall correctly, which may explain my fifty bucks. But it was totally worth it. Can't believe I wasted all that money on crappy ones you couldn't talk through beforehand.
300 dollars on the other hand...you can buy an awful lot of cheapo's for that...b_t_s, did you have braces or something goofy going on in the old word hole that could've made it cost that much? That still seems crazy to me.

I did have braces until recently.. Plus they screwed up the mold the first time so I had to go back again. I think a lab makes the actual guards for my dentist.

I still have to get out of bed, make breakfast and then walk about an hour to class because of a bus strike... except I swear if the bus strike lasts longer than the end of Janurary that I'll get so used to walking to school, I might just decide against taking the bus and just walk everyday for an hour to and an hour back from school

My alarm either didn't go off this morning or I didn't hear it.
There's nothing like waking up and realizing because of how bright it is out that you've overslept. You want to jump out of bed and get ready but then you discover that because you've been sleeping on your arm, everything from your shoulder on down to your hand is completely numb. So you have to wait until you've regained feeling.

This morning I woke up to some kook outside my building wielding a shovel and yelling at the house across the street demanding that Owen get the f out of his house. It was kind of amusing. Then he started yelling at passers by and smacking the ground with the shovel. He really wanted everyone to know that Owen was in his house and wouldn't leave.
I love living downtown. Always something going on. Murders, bum fights, shovel wielding lunatics with people named Owen occupying their houses...
