I was listening to some
Richard Cheese today and thought I'd share it with CP. I did a search first and it seems that a fair number of people are familiar with him.
I also found
this and
this. WTF is wrong with you people??? Beasley is great. Probably one of the best at his job in the NHL. He's not boring or monotone or senile like the Edmonton and Detroit guys. He uses a lot of enthusiasm which is great.
How could anyone compare him to the WWF? That is really friggin lame.
Well at least all you haters can eat your words because you'll soon hear him announce "and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Men's Hockey Gold Medal winners are..."
Oh. And I found this gem:

BTW that is from late October in 06.
EDIT: after reading more of those threads it seems that some of the really serious fans (habernac and Cheese I'm looking at you) think hockey is serious business and the goal announcer should sound just as serious. The NFL is called the No Fun League for a reason and even they have over the top announcers.
Half of all sports events I've been to have a guy like Beasley to announce the goals triumphantly, the other half seem to have either a guy who thinks it is a funeral or someone who does it in between, not too much flair but not like the Oilers guy who thinks he has to speak quitely or he'll get in trouble.
This about sums up how I feel

He's the best. I don't understand the unprofessional thing.

It is a damn hockey game, not a round of golf.
