I need some feedback. Me and a co-worker are having a bit of a disagreement. We were carpooling on our way to a meeting. She realizes she has no change, which we will need to park close to the meeting. I tried to get some stores to break some bills for us but to no avail. She says "forget about it, we'll take our chances."
So, we come out of the meeting and not surprisingly, she's got a ticket. She flips out, saying it's my fault we didn't get any change and is now demanding that I pay at least half of the ticket. So, what does everyone think? Am I on the hook for part of the ticket?

Pffft, she said she would be willing to take the chance, and you did try to get bills broken.
Give her a pile of sand and a hammer, and tell her that she can pound that sand and her ticket right up her a$$

If she didn't flip out at you, it would be nice to offer to pay for half the ticket. However, ultimately, SHE is the one responsible as the driver. You tried to help earlier, but she was the one that said to take the chance. So, imo, you are not on the hook, especially since she freaked out at you

I would think you're in the clear. I mean, you tried to get it after all and she said don't worry about it. Did she try to do the same? You insisted and she said don't worry and she called it, I don't think you have to pay half, it wasn't your fault she said don't worry and parked there anyway.

Just to be nice, I'd offer to pay 100% of what the parking would have cost. But that's it. She took her chances and she can pay for it.

Whoa, a little bi-polar or what. I wouldn't pay either. You tried to help, she said don't bother, I wouldn't worry about it.
I can't believe some people, if that was me I wouldn't dream of asking you to pay half, it's my car, my choice to park there.

Well if she said "We'll take our chances," likely she was assuming from the outset that it was shared risk. Perhaps she saw the two of you as a sort of Parking Thelma & Louise. So I can see that side of it, but ultimately if this was her thinking, then she needed to get more of a commitment from you then you simply you not objecting to her 'our chances' comment.

It was her that said forget about it, we'll take our chances. Since she made that descion she should be taking full responsibility for paying that ticket. You owe her nothing.

Pay half the ticket. Parking tickets are usually pretty cheap and it wouldn't be worth aggravating a co-worker of a few bucks. Just make sure she knows she is buying next time you have to pick up a quick meal.

The last week has been CRAP, thoroughly and completely. Work has been annoying, I'm fighting the flu, my family is making me crazy, and it's been one piece of bad luck after another for my best friend nonstop for that whole week.
I just want to take the next 3 days off of work and not get out of bed.

Nothing to bring a guy down after a vacation like receiving a ticket in the mail for running a red light.
I thought I made the light in time, but apparently not, so I guess I'll just man up and pay it.

Lucky you. I'm still debating about spending ridiculous money to see the Toronto game. I really want to go, but it's an obscene amount of money.
