Redford was arrogant and corrupt. I'm starting to think that Notley is just plain arrogant and stupid.

The NDP routinely criticized the PCs for this. But we already knew Notley is a hypocrite.
Flying out to Toronto to help fundraise for the Ontario wing of the party, at $10,000 a plate! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmont...nner-1.3460485
Jason Nixon asks a valid, though extremely worded question about what Notley's priorities are. So far, it seems this government is more interested in promoting the NDP elsewhere in Canada than it is promoting Alberta. That is deeply troubling.
She's also playing games with the Calgary-Greenway by-election, calling it after her party got its candidate ready, but before the other parties did. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgar...ming-1.3460553
I'm not terribly concerned about this one, except for the amusing fact that the Premier who has spent her entire tenure blaming the PCs to deflect challenges of her competence is now using those same PCs to defend herself.

Wasn't the Greenway election already strongly rumoured to be that date or something? I can't recall, but I swear I saw that on twitter or something in the past week?

Two Alberta MPs are in hot water after tweeting about a bingo game the pair were playing during question period in the House of Commons Monday.
Conservative MP Kerry Diotte, who represents Edmonton Griesbach, tweeted a photo of a "Liberal Buzz Word Bingo" card with squares that included the words "Indigenous," "middle class" and "Syrians."

The rumour of the Calgary-Greenway by-election broke on Friday afternoon. 24 hours before the scheduled NDP nomination process on the 20th.

I don't think it matters. Frankly it would be a massive surprise if the NDP carried the seat at this point. I think its PCs first and maybe the WRP second.

Yeah, like I said, I don't care about the actual complaint there too much. It's Notley's "put the PCs did it so it is okay if I did it" defence. That's just tone deaf.

Expect to see some backlash after PC's averted the democratic nomination process and appointed their candidate.
It's not going to be a walk in the park for the PC's. It's a very ethnically diverse riding where people vote more for individuals than parties.
Last year, PC's only won that riding because Manmeet Bhullar was very well-known and liked in the area otherwise it would have been an NDP win who only lost by 800 votes or so.
Wildrose was a distant 3rd...like 2800 votes behind.
Whichever candidate resonates with the ethnic population and has the backing of community leaders is going to take Greenway....irrespective of what the pundits are feeding the mainstream media or what the polls are saying.
Its a wide open election.

The fact that you listen or share his viewpoints is flat-out embarrassing. Don't know of a bigger goofball in the Alberta Legislature. He has a problem with every single god-damn thing.
Also, WRP are a bunch of crazy folk. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

Aww, someone is embarrassed on my behalf. How cute.
You realize you are crying about a situation where I stated that Nixon's complaint is something I'm not concerned about, right?

Yeah I posted my comment before the PCs appointed a candidate. I have no idea why they would do that as opposed to just bumping up the nomination to get things prepared sooner on their end. Seems like a poor choice that could hurt them.

That's fine. I cant stand the NDP, so I know how it goes.
If you like, feel free to criticize me for siding with Nixon's complaint that Notley is more interested in promoting the NDP than she is her constituents.

They're now making a big deal about this, they've sent me two emails to their members. Whining about this being disrespectful and it shows that the Cons don't respect the plight of ordinary Canadians. Then it asked me to donate what I could to fight this disrespect.
I still think its less respectful then the party leader calling someone a "Piece of sh%%" in session.

Even as a Liberal supporter the shear volume of those emails in amazing.
I will say they've been showing remarkable restraint lately, it's been over 48 hours since my last call to action.

Rachel Notley is basically Buster Douglas. Came out of nowhere, surprised the hell out of everyone, landed that knockout punch that shocked the world.
Then, when it was time to defend the title, she showed up (metaphorically) fat and out of shape.

Well..to be fair..the biggest criticism against her is about these fundraisers. It's the job of opposition parties to criticize...but I think they are criticizing way too much that it's just starting to fall on deaf ears. I don't know a single thing that the NDP does that they don't complain about.
There's much more important things to be critical of than a couple of fundraisers. Maybe its just me....but I could care less about this issue.
And then there's this stereotype of NDP being Anti-Oil...but all I see in the news is how Notley is being Pro-Oil. I might want to jump on the Anti-NDP as much as anyone else, but I really have no substantiated reason that is backed up by facts.
This is even after my family has been deeply affected by the downturn in the economy over the past couple of years.

uhh ... actually the biggest criticism is that she doesn't know what she's doing and doesn't have the competent people to run a government.

Well, that is true. But only if you ignore her bungling of Bill 6, her bungling of the budget and her bungling of the royalty review.
As far as being anti-oil, when she is overtly kowtowing to the Pembina Foundation in her PR stuff, it becomes rather impossible to believe she is pro-oil. Never mind the anti-oil activists she has hired and the aforementioned royalty review disaster.
