I spoke to a few guys in charge of building LRT lines in both Canada and the US. The Canadian side had protests at every line while the American said he hadn't experienced these protests until he started working in Canada.

Is it possible that listening to them causes them to shout louder?
Just to confirm, we're actually talking about Light Rail Transit protesters?

Gregor Robertson claims an oil spill would result in 400,000 job losses in Vancouver. In the absence of a reasonable argument, just swing for the fences with hyperbole.

There is an active group of protesters against light rail in Edmonton.

A foot bridge is being temporarily removed during construction and some people don't like the route.

The contract is awarded for construction but there is an active group that wants the city to undo 10 years of effort and plan a new route that doesn't impact what they care about.

That, and I thought the protesters were really rude during the ground breaking. They stood directly behind the mayor/officials and shouted over his speech.

That's misleading. Such an event would add 1.2 million jobs to the local anti-oil activist market; everyone could protest energy transportation all day long and earn decent livings.

That's the dollar plus North America is where most of the supply cuts have occurred.

Mayor moonbeam is such a tool he's gonna be the reason the housing bubble pops in Vancouver.

No he won't, if you're talking about foreign ownership. Too much money for the city through sales then property taxes. Then again this mayor doesn't understand economics so maybe you're right.

Natural gas has been on a really good rally of late due to technical support levels and a warm summer forecasted.

At what price would we see drilling pick up?

Actually not so hot for the SAGD operations I'm guessing since it will increase the energy costs per barrel.

Does anyone drill conventional Gas anymore? I don't know what the price would need to be to boost drilling but I assume its high.
