1) I'm not sure how that argument holds any weight. The vote happened, Trump did not win the popular vote.
2) If that was the case, and things went the other way around, and Clinton won the EC and Trump won the popular vote, what do you think the riots would look like right now? Given the promises of armed insurgency from his supporters, I imagine it would be worse than what's happening right now.

That's the whole point of the EC process in the first place is to do exactly that; make a decision that's different than the popular vote. So I'd argue that the EC process itself is undemocratic (since it's not really 1 person 1 vote). Using the process as it's designed is hardly hijacking.
That said how it's been used in the past, well pretty much forever is important too, more important even, and that's why it a) would never happen and b) if it did, I can't even imagine what it'd look like.
On the gripping hand, would the damage from doing it be more than the damage Trump will have over his term? Can't predict the future, so it'll be an interesting question in 4 years.

I guess one thing to take solace in is that the last time a President was elected while losing the popular vote, everything turned out ok.

I, for one, pray for the day we can sever our ties to all that crap.
King Charles seems like a good break point. Who's with me? To arms.

The electoral college wasn't just created to prevent a tyranny of the majority, it was created to give false weight to slave holding states so that their slave populations would count towards their population totals in compared to northern free states.
What it was really created for was to prevent blacks from voting in their self interest (to free themselves) and to help prevent demographic swings of fleeing blacks to the north from giving the northern states a population/representation boost.
It is working by design now still as a state like Wisconsin which is 92% white and has more electoral representation than say California which is 20% less white.

And it's not like this time the elected Pres is totally disinterested in the nitty gritty elements of the job and would rather just #### off and do nothing while everyone behind the scenes really runs the show....

That makes sense. I thought you had gone full Dion, posting pictures in the wrong context.
Carry on.

Ehh, I don't think that's fair. A lot is made about W's first year vacations, but I think the guy legitimately had good intentions and worked at it. I just thought he let himself be controlled by his staffers, right into his second term pretty much.

I wonder how many white nationalists will be in governance by then (that second term I lost...again).
