Vastly more interesting than 2012 (and more dangerous to earth) is the Asteroid Apophis:
On April 13 (a friday) 2029, Apophis (named for the egyptian god of Death and Darkness) will pass closer to earth than any other large asteroid in the history of space-observation. It will actually pass between the earth and our highest orbiting communications sattelites - pretty damn close for an object the size of the Rose Bowl stadium.
When it passes by in 2029, there is a 'gravitational keyhole' which is about 600 miles wide which it might pass through - our math hasn't pinpointed if it will or not yet. IFApophis passes through the centre of this keyhole, it will strike the Earth on its return pass on April 13, 2036. The point of impact will be about 500 miles west of Santa Monica and the result will be the essential anihilation of the West Coast of North America by a series of tidal waves over 50 meters high.

Additional observations of the trajectory of Apophis revealed the keyhole would likely be missed and on August 5, 2006 Apophis was lowered to a Level 0 on the Torino Scale. As of April 16, 2008, the impact probability for April 13, 2036, is calculated as 1 in 45,000. An additional impact date in 2037 was also identified; the impact probability for that encounter was calculated as 1 in 12.3 million
Quantum physicists are telling us what ancient spiritual teachings have been saying for centuries. We are all connected, everything material and immaterial is all connected through energy at the subatomic level. We quite literally co-create the world we live in through our thoughts, beliefs and actions.
No, actually it doesn't say this.

Here's the possible impact location chart, from Wikipedia:
Well "totally true" is a little much. According to the NASA link you posted:
Quote:
Upon its discovery in 2004, Apophis was briefly estimated to have a 2.7% chance of impacting the Earth in 2029. Additional measurements later showed there was no impact risk at that time from the 210-330 meter (690-1080 foot) diameter object,

While trajectory knowledge was substantially corrected by the Arecibo data, a small estimated chance of impact (less than 1 in 45,000 using standard dynamical models) remained for April 13, 2036.

So all in all the chances are almost zero.
Yeah, it's not likely, but it is an asteroid we've found that stands a chance of hitting us on a known date, as opposed to 2012 "Age of Aquarius" mumbo-jumbo.
And 1 in 45,000 is better than the chances you'll drown in a bathtub (1 in 685,000), be struck by lighting (1 in 576,000), die in a fire (1 in 81,524) or date a supermodel (1 in 88,000).

Anytime one of these things are pointing in our general direction there should be concern, All it has to do is have a colision with a smaller astriod as it comes threw the belt (where theres millions of other rocks to hit) and it could be thrown on course for a direct hit.
What exactly is a "major shift in consciousness", and how exactly is it manifesting itself right now? Can you provide specific examples or "proof"?
Of course he can because that is such a broad vague term. I can put the fact that I now wipe my butt with my right hand instead of my left as proof of a "shift in consciousness".

Its like 1999 all over again.
Y2K at least had some basis in reality and was plausible (how plausible, I admit I don't know).
It's one thing to fret over machines failing based on a recognized and legitimate design flaw. It's another thing to worry about the end of the world based on amateur interpretations of an ancient document produced by a long extinct culture.
I wonder if a "2012 Believer" can tell us why the Mayans, who were apparently capable of predicting the future, didn't have the mustard to stick around in their "present".

Actually, both the Mayan people and culture have survived to the present day, especially in Guatemala. If you've ever been through Central America, you'll discover that as soon as you cross into Guatemala you're dealing with a completely different ethnic group.
Unlike the Aztecs or Incas, the Mayan culture was not a monolithic empire, but rather a collection of independent city-states. This decentralization allowed the culture and people to survive into the modern day.

Seriously, its so sad. I wonder what we can expect after 2012, can't wait to see what is the new end of days or new change in consciousness will be then
