The people who aren't picking should be ashamed. I see them posting in other threads. Even if their picks aren't the greatest, at least by picking it would help MOVE THE FRACKIN' DRAFT ALONG FOR THOSE WHO DO WANT SEE THE PICKS. Inconsiderate bastages.

You're absolutely right. Not only that, but I also promised Girly's Inbox ( ) that I would get caught up...

So...

Wildcard Singer: Bon Scott
Wildcard Band: Slayer
Drummer: Dave Lombardo
Best Song: Metallica - Master of Puppets
Band East of the Missssissssippppi: The White Stripes

I do appologize for taking so long. It's easy to make the picks, but it's time consuming keeping up with everyone else's picks, researching new picks, and then also (in keeping with the spirit of the draft) posting interesting stories about the picks.

I'll do what I can to make more time for this draft. I committed to it, and I should follow through on that.

ps: I'll try to piece together some interesting stories on these picks asap.
pps: I think I may need to make one more pick, but I'll wait to see what Girly has to say first. I might be already caught up with just these picks.

With our 15th round selection, #305 overall, AliceLoveGarden is proud to select in the category of Album, Queensryche's masterpiece Operation: Mindcrime.

Operation: Mindcrime is Queensrÿche's third full-length album, which was released on May 3, 1988. It is a concept album about a man becoming disillusioned with American society, and joining in a conspiratorial plot to assassinate its corrupt leaders, with spoken dialogue between songs that advances the story and ties the songs together. The album is generally considered to be the first, and still one of the most important and popular, progressive metal recordings. In January 1989, it ranked #34 on Kerrang! magazine's "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time".

No filler! This album rocks from start to finish and that's a very good thing since it is a rock opera. It amazes me how few people have actually listened to this record from start to finish. It's one of my very favorite albums of all time. I don't think it's the greatest album ever made, but I do think it is the greatest progressive metal album ever made. Musically, it's magnificent. Geoff Tate's vocals are top notch and the pace and flow of the album is perfect. I wish everyone in this draft would take the time to listen to this .....or at least everyone who likes hard rock of any kind. I'm curious to know how many of you own it!

I will post some videos here but keep in mind, the album is greater than the sum of the parts!

Revoution Calling

Spreading The Disease

The Mission

Suite Sister Mary (Full stage production w/ Pamela Moore)

Eyes of a Stranger

Just so I don't hold the draft up I'm just going to throw my pick up and get music and info later. So! I select Teddybears in the category of World

OK!

World: The Swell Season

(stories, videos, tidbits will be up for my latest pics soon)

Do I pick again after Flames_SJ?

Edit: Whoops. I had to edit my pick. These guys are in a few different bands, and the one I originally selected was the wrong combination of bandmates. It's all good now, though. Sorry if there was any confusion. I think I caught it in time, though.

With my deepest apologies to GirlySport and the rest of the participants for the delays, I am pleased to be able to select in the USA East of Mississippi, WHITE ZOMBIE. Rob Zombie leaves something to be desired these days, but what I would have paid to have been able to see White Zombie in concert with Metallica.

This is a bonus clip featuring a performance on David Letterman by first Megadeth, and then White Zombie.

My next pick is coming up...

I think i am up and with my next selection i will fill my wildcard singer with one of my favorites Jimmy Buffett.

Have seen him a couple of times in concert and they have been some of the best parties i have ever been too...

Quote:
Born to James Delaney "J.D." Buffett Jr. and Mary Loraine "Peets" Buffett in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Buffett spent part of his childhood at 4623 North Sunset Drive in Mobile, Alabama.[1] As a boy in grade school, he attended St. Ignatius Catholic School. He later lived in Fairhope, AL, referenced by Jimmy as what he considers his "Home Town" during a 2001 concert (11/5/2001 at Philips Arena, Atlanta Ga during set list 2, just before playing song number 15, "When the Coast is Clear"). He graduated from high school from McGill Institute for Boys (now McGill-Toolen Catholic High School) in 1964. He began playing guitar during his college years at Auburn University and The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he received a bachelor's degree in history in 1969. He was initiated into the fraternity Kappa Sigma (ΚΣ) at the University of Southern Mississippi, but left the fraternity soon after. He later married his first wife, Margie Washichek, at Spring Hill College in Mobile. After graduating from college, Buffett worked as a correspondent for Billboard magazine in Nashville, breaking the news of the separation of Flatt and Scruggs. He and his current wife Jane have two daughters, Savannah Jane and Sarah Delaney, and an adopted son, Cameron Marley. Buffett is a licensed pilot, holding instrument, single and multi-engine land and sea ratings. When not touring, Buffett resides with his wife in a $25 million dollar home in Palm Beach, Florida.

Personally, I blame all those evil people that slacked off for 8 weeks and then came back in droves with their 8 selections at once!

Evil bastiges. All of you!
