Last two still work for me. Two of my very favorite Blues Traveler tunes. Great stuff.

With our 7th Round selection, Team Phlegmp3 is absolutely tickled to be able to add Alicia Keys in the Female Singer category.
Quote:
Alicia Keys helped redefine the term "overnight sensation" when her 2001 debut effort, Songs in A Minor, sold more than 50,000 copies during its first day of release. Mixing R&B songcraft with a sultry dose of neo-soul, the album went on to move more than ten million units worldwide, officially establishing the young Alicia Keys (who was only 19 during the recording process) as an international star. Although she shared the charts with such R&B contemporaries as Destiny's Child, Keys' talents distinguished her as a different sort of diva, one who played a variety of instruments and penned the vast majority of her songs without outside help. The Diary of Alicia Keys solidified her popularity two years later, and Alicia Keys spent the rest of the decade refining her now-signature sound.
Yup, just finished Physics 30...only got one left on Wednesday. Sorry I've been so busy but yeah, things have been a little hectic lately. And thanks Girly. Things have gone well so far (I hope haha).
Anywho, with their 7th round pick, Dr. Funke's 100% Natural Good Time Family Band Solution selects John Frusciante in the category of guitarist.
I'm off to slopitch practice now so I'll try to get stuff up later.

Great pick Dis... one of my favorites..i have been fortunate enough to have seen BT 23 times...
Thanks. I'd like to see them once. 23 times...you are fortunate. They are touring with Live this summer...another band I really like. Don't think it's going to work out for me to get to one of the shows though.

We used to go and follow the tours around in the mid 90's.. i woudl say i saw at lest 5 BT shows a year and prob 30 different concerts a year during that time..
some of my favorite BT shows were on the HORDE tours.. they got some great bands together for those festivals. at a show in 98 I actully got one of poppers harmonicas that he threw out into the crowd. I don't really think they are the same since Bobby died in 99 but if you get the chance def go and see them.
Damn, I apologize again for taking so long. So busy...
Anyway, with our next pick, The Upper Crash are pleased to select... from Chiswick, London...
The legendary Phil Collins!
(for now, I am going to place him in the UK category... but he can go in about 4 or 5 different categories)
I'll add some youtube goodness in a bit, but for now... I'll just mention that he's sold over 148 million albums as a solo artist (not even counting the albums he's sold as a member of the myriad of bands he's been in). He's also won multiple Grammys, AMAs, Golden Globes and Oscars. He's also recognized as a direct influence of bands such as Radiohead, Coldplay, etc. Not to mention, he's the reason I started playing the drums when I was 7!
Here's a lil' sum-sumptin, while I dig up some more...
Damn! I just realize someone had taken this person. I'll have to go to my backup...be back in a sec.
Yes! Since Mozart was taken. I will select for my 7th pick, Ludwig Van Beethoven for the piano category (yeah, there's a common running theme of classical composers).
Ludwig van Beethoven, (December 16, 1770 – March 26, 1827) was a German composer and virtuoso pianist. He was a crucial figure in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western classical music, and remains one of the most respected and influential composers of all time.
Born in Bonn, then in the Electorate of Cologne (now in modern-day Germany), he moved to Vienna, Austria, in his early twenties and settled there, studying with Joseph Haydn and quickly gaining a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. Beethoven's hearing gradually deteriorated beginning in his twenties, yet he continued to compose masterpieces, and to conduct and perform, even after he was completely deaf.

I'm going to make a hasty pick here to keep things going. I didn't do any research, so I'm just going to go back to my favorites for this pick, unfortunately it probably would have been safe right until the end.
In the category of ALBUM, the Harry Manbacks are proud to select my favorite album, from my favorite band; ...And Justice For All by METALLICA!
With our next selection we are going to move over to the Album category to select one of my favorite albums that i still listen to quite regularly. Ten by Pearl Jam
Quote:
Ten is the debut album by the Americanalternative rock band Pearl Jam, released on August 27, 1991 through Epic Records. Following the disbanding of bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard's previous group Mother Love Bone, the two recruited vocalist Eddie Vedder, guitarist Mike McCready, and drummer Dave Krusen to form Pearl Jam in 1990. Most of the songs began as instrumental jams, to which Vedder added lyrics about topics such as depression, homelessness, and abuse. Ten was not an immediate success, but by late 1992 it had reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The album produced three hit singles: "Alive", "Even Flow", and "Jeremy". While Pearl Jam was accused of jumping on the grunge bandwagon at the time, Ten was instrumental in popularizing alternative rock in the mainstream.[1] The album has been certified twelve times Platinum in the United States and remains Pearl Jam's most successful album.
