Default Active shooter in Moncton - update: 3 police Dead

@FriedgeHNIC: RCMP has asked that people in the Moncton area stay indoors as a shooter remains loose in the area. Heed the warning and stay safe.

@seleross: Canadian Press' @EtienneFG says (paywalled) Telegraph Journal confirmed this is a pic of the Moncton shooter. http://t.co/u9X2u2ZqRM #Codiac

The RCMP in New Brunswick said a manhunt was underway late Wednesday in the north end of Moncton for a man armed with guns after an undisclosed number of people were shot.

Const. Damien Theriault said police were urging people in the area to stay inside their homes and lock their doors. Drivers were also asked to stay out of the area.

Theriault would not confirm reports that a police officer had been shot

Don't recall the last time people have gotten this close to an active gunman and photographed him.

Someone could have taken a picture before they realized what was going on. I know I wouldn't stop and take a picture under the circumstances.

Hopefully he gets caught or put down ASAP (obviously).

@BreakingNews says 3 officers "mortally wounded", CNN Breaking News says "at least 3 officers killed" and 770 says at least 2 with life threatening injuries.

And now we wait and hope.

I'm in shock.

Moncton is a city that I have a lot of friends and family in. A great little town.

This is shocking.

Not only that someone would rampage like this, but it's not like he shot 5 random people fatally wounding 3 of them. These were all member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Shot them and got away, the RCMP are asking people not to put there locations on social media in case he's monitoring twitter, Facebook, etc.

His Facebook profile is filled with radical pro-gun rhetoric and anti-government propaganda.

I haven't heard any report but from here that they got him. I hope it's true.
