Maybe it is better as an audio book?

I think Dataclysm is a much better book in this area.

I burned through the Audiobook as it had quite a bit of humor in it. Humor that needs his delivery. I do not think I would have enjoyed it as much on paper.

By far the most interesting part was comparing dating between cultures. The rest of it was pretty common sense and a little repetitive.

Yeah. I put it down, and can't convince myself to pick it back up. Maybe I'll try audio book. I love AA.
I feel shame

I finished it. I can't say my opinion of it much improved. I am disappointed. I like Aziz and I liked the concept of this book. I figured it would be a good match, his humour and the topic, but it didn't work for me. It was repetitive throughout. I thought more could have been done with it, I guess.

I read Mindy Kaling's book Why Not Me? over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it and I know some people who struggled with her writing, so to each their own, I guess. On to the next... Have we decided on a December book? Are we still doing this?

There wasn't enough science to be a real science book (definitely too much anecdotal) and not enough humor to be a comedy book, it felt stuck between the two. I thought it was alright. The parts about dating in other countries was one of the best parts. I think if you are single and looking for advice there isn't that much in there to be honest. There are examples of laypersons writing an in depth book on a topic (Jon Ronson and Mary Roach) who do an excellent job, this did not feel like one of those.

I think this matches how I felt. Only made it for the first few chapters and was comparing it to freakanomics or gladwell type books on behaviour and found it lacking and compared it to poelhers and Feys books wasn't funny enough.

He did say he wasn't writing a humour book but if it's not going to be a humour book it needed to be more sciencey.

His Netflix show covers a lot of these same topics in a much better format.
