If Kadri said that about the Avs wouldn't we rejoice? I don't get how this is an issue whatsoever. Good on em, he shouldn't at all be concerned with the current direction of the team. Haha this makes no sense to me.
The difference to me is Colorado is in our conference so there is direct competition.

Johnny is out east now, why not cheer on your friends, the organization that gave you millions and millions to play a game, still have some care for the team that tried to "move heaven and earth" to keep you and hope they do well as long as it doesnt effect you or your new team?

Makes no sense to me. Honestly his petty F the Flames comment makes me think he is actually feeling regret at his decision already.

That's how I feel as well. I've said this before, what he should've said was "I love the city and fans, and I got a lots of good friends still on that team and I wish them well and I wish they do well in that conference and until they face us." Fans would appreciate that a lot more.

May be he doesn't have any friends on the team except Monahan, now that Mony is traded, that's why he couldn't careless about the Flames.

Anybody who has been around on CP knows this thread will never die. Jankowski and Bennett lasted longer and they're nowhere as prolific as Johnny was with us.

It can die when Johnny asks for a trade out of Columbus in 2 years.

I still find it funny. My anger kind of subsided once it was clear it was Columbus, since it's just such a random choice. In my mind, I think it would have stung a lot more if he had really signed in Philly or Jersey, since it would have been a "what could have been if not for geography?" thing to lament, as a fan. But Columbus, and at that price? It's funny to me. Maybe I'd think differently about it if Tre hadn't salvaged the situation with a ridiculous Tkachuk trade, but here we are. I've moved on to our new shiny toys.

that being said, I hope he'll get booed hard. Because why not? It's fun. Fans are allowed to petty.

I’ll be booing the S$&@ out of him for the rest of his career. Why? Because he’s dead to me now. Everyone knew all along he heart was never truly in Calgary. He just made a production of it all.

The Lydman deal always bothered me. There are more disastrous ones to be sure. But that one made no sense. Pretty much given away (for a 3rd used to pick John Armstrong), and he went on to be a top 4 dman for many years.

An example of why Sutter should not be allowed anywhere near the GM chair.

Give me first two years or so of Sutter the GM. What an incredible run. Then yeah, it just went all to hell.

Pretty much once his inside intelligence about San Jose faded.

The best way for Johnny to avoid the boo birds at the Dome is for the Flames to be having a dominant season lead by the new guys having great years and Columbus/Gaudreau having an off year which ultimately is not a huge stretch.

Flames fans feeling great about their new guys and feeling relieved Johnny left the money on the table because he is struggling.

It's clear he's anything but dead to you. He's in your every thought.

Why else would you boo the %^&$# out of him for the rest of his career?

In this case dead to him is he went from a friend to an enemy, like to dislike with no way Johnny can become alive (liked) again.

I actually think it had much more to do with no longer coaching. Maybe he is a guy who needs to have his finger right on the pulse of the game action day in and day out.

People are really over thinking this boo thing. When you decide whether to boo or not, you are not Commodus up there in the stands with your thumb stuck in neutral. You are merely juice. It is not a decision of class or morals. It is, do I want to now add juice to this crowd or do I want to withhold my juice?

Booing an athlete does not mean he hurt you or you want to hurt them, it is about how one can breathe life into a crowd in a way that everyone can get on board and elevate the atmosphere.

If you think that booing is either classy or classless and you have a moral code on who to boo and when, you have simply granted yourself more importance than anyone else will ever do.

Johnny will not be hurt by boos. He will see them for what they are, a fun crowd enjoying themselves. If he is ruffled by them, he is no different than any of the posters here still ruffled by his leaving. Trust me, he won't be.

Bring that juice.
