I never would have agreed with this until now. The events of the last few weeks have really soured me on Johnny and I never thought it was possible. I thought he was a straight shooter with character. I think Treliving thought so too, which is why he got burned...

Having lived my whole life in the Northeastern US and the last decade in the Philadelphia-area where the Gaudreau family still resides, I can tell all the people on this board that Columbus is the dark side of the moon. Very few flights there from PHL, NYC, DC airports and several hours by car. There is no selling this decision.

How so? The gudbranson deal is insane, but not sure why you'd lump it with gaudreau's new salary and call it insane together. They were very lucky to pick up a superstar free agent under $10AAV. Especially in a market that generally loses all its good players.

My bet is even NJ and NYI are surprised. Surely they would have thought Johnny going to Columbus would be a bluff.
