I'd be fine with that. Huge winger, big center and a solid defenseman.

I realize that.
Will the mock draft coming up after this be more of a team thing?

yeah but last year it was garbage McGuire and Button taking turns picking for every other team.
Not sure if it will be different this year.

Craig Button's Mock Draft:
- Mackinnon
- Jones
- Drouin
- Barkov
- Monahan - says Carolina will recieve lots of calls for this pick
- Lindholm - calls him a center in the mold of David Krecji
- Nurse
- Nichushkin - comments how it might be hard for Edmonton to pass on him
- Fucale - says it makes sense for NJ because of brodeur
- Wennberg
- Morin
- Shinkarik
- Domi
- Ristolanen
- Mantha- questions about his work ethic
- Mueller
- Zadarov
- Hovart
- Lazar - says he will either be a 3rd line center or 2nd line winger either way will play in NHL
- Rychel
- Gauthier
- Hartman - can play center or winger... is rugged and competitive...
- Morrissey
- Pulock
- Zykov
- Erne
- Bowey
- Santini - pure defensive dmen ..didn't score a goal this year... a lot of certainty on his game unlike Theodore's
- Porier
- Dickenson

My ideal 1st round would be for the Flames to move up to around 15th from 22nd without giving up 28 and take:
#6 - Lindholm or Nichushkin
#15 - Mantha
#28 - Morrissey or Dickinson
If we end up with Nich, it sure would be nice to have another potential top line C in Mantha and possibly even Dickinson in the fold in case the Russian factor does indeed come into play down the road.
This draft just looks awesome. I CAN'T $@&#ING WAIT for this Sunday!

Feaster on TSN:
need to find top 2 center
need to find 3rd line center especially faeoffs
holes in defense
confirms offering all 3 first picks to Colorado... and says in talks with all teams above them (not necessairly offering the same thing)

Just a guess, but we're after Barkov.
Not sure what its gonna cost.

I would be extremely pleased if Craig Buttons first round went down that way for the Flames. Don't know much about Santini but the other two players would have me over the moon!

Button seems really really high on Monahan. He seems to think he will go at #5.
I wonder if Todd has any insight into a possible trade for a team moving up to #5 or if Carolina will take him with their pick at #5.
I really want this guy. 6'2", Center, can win draws, team captain, 2 way player.

Most of Edmonton media has been saying the Oilers want Monahan in a big way and that was long before the combine. If Carolina does not care which 3-4 players ( Monahan, Russian, Lindholm or Nurse) then it makes sense for them to trade down to #7 and probably get a 2nd round pick also.

Tanguay, Cammy + 6th I would offer. Then they end up with Lindholm to play with Forsberg (most likely) along with help now to be competitive.

I agree-you can't aquire big #1 centers, you have to draft them. I really think his offensive potential is underrated when you consider the team he played for.
