This could be fun!
Renaud Lavoie @RenLavoieRDS 7m
Patrick Roy told Joe Sakic today that the team needs to study the possibility of trading the team first round pick in a month. #RDS

Maybe they are in the business of acquiring more picks. Still wouldn't give up more than one though, with a roster player.
6+22 and what?

I feel that if the Blues finished eighth and were booted out in the first round meaning their pick was #16, that would have gotten the trigger pulled on a deal. Just do not know what more you have to add to 22.

Sounds like he's contemplating trading down, (if it's even his place to do so is interesting) to add picks. The question is if they think the player they want will still be there at 6.

Patrick Roy we'll be the one talking trades with other GMs. #avalanche #RDS

Roy already in discussions with the management team and Joe Sakic about trading their first overall pick. Am told Roy REALLY likes Drouin
Just speculation. Would that mean Jones would go to Tampa?

Could see that actually. Tampa and Carolina both really like Nichushkin.

If the jockeying gets crazy and Jones falls to Nashville, what do they do? Still take Barkov?

I don't think they can pass up the opportunity to draft Jones in that case. The possibility of having top 2 dmen in Weber and Jones together would be exciting.

That would actually make the draft even more exciting.

BPA always and that is Jones. No way he makes it out of the top 2 though.

Why would Tampa do it? Only way it makes sense for them is if they think that either the Avs or Florida want Nichushkin and with no scuttlebut saying so if I were they I'd rather just roll the dice on it and figure I'll get him at my own slot.

Yeah. If TB wants Nichuskin, then they just pick him at #3 instead of moving up to do so

Unless they think the Avs or Panthers will take Nichushkin instead, but I just can't see how he goes before Jones and Mckinnon. Either way, it has no impact to the Flames. The only real impact is if Tampa really likes Nichushkin, but think he'll still be available at 6th, so they swap with the Flames for their 6th + another asset (say one of their other 1st round picks).

I wonder if that opens the door for teams trading up to get into the top 3? It also gives me hope that Barkov falls to the flames. If one of the top 5 likes and takes Nichuskin it guarantees the Oil a shot at Monahan or Lindholm

If any of the top 3 picks are available, we should give up just about anything to get one. The more I think about it, the more I'd be willing to part with next years pick too
