Hopefully. If Tampa hits in that 4/5 range I think they would be a good target.

I think you right, I can see the follow players moved in effort to move up the draft.
Tangs, Cammy, Hudler, Wideman, Stempniak, Glencross, Jackman and maybe even Gio.

I just can't believe the amount of whining in tis thread - it's almost as bad as the PGTs were after losses earlier in the year.
For those of you suggesting we trade all three first rounders to move up a few spots in he draft, all I can do is shake my head.
First of all, we won't know for years which of the kids turn out to be the best players.
Second, if the Flames fall to a point where they don't get a player that helps next year, all it does is increase the chance that we draft top 2 or 3 next year and get a different franchise player. These things work themselves out.
Finally: no, these wins don't translate to wins next year. However, hockey is a game of confidence and guys like Brodie, Backlund, Baertschi, Reinhart, Horak, and even a guy like Cundari today, are getting better and more confident with each game
Relax, wait for the draft, and without question, the Flames should make their 3 picks. If they use a Stempniak or a Butler or something to move up a couple spots, so be it, but that is very unlikely.

As long as we don't fall out of the top 7 I think we get a good player, if we are out of that then its going to be a hard one.

Have to pick ahead of the Oilers to get Monahan IMO. There is no way they draft a defenseman. Makes too much sense.

Lol, yet again EDM will draft a forward when their defensive depth is absolutely horrible. If any team needed a good solid D pick in this draft it would be EDM.

Florida - Jones
Colorado - Drouin/MacKinnon
Tampa - Drouin/MacKinnon/Nichushkin
Nashville - Barkov/Nichushkin
Carolina - Nurse/Barkov
Edmonton - Monahan
Calgary - Lindholm
Look possible?

Sure does. At worst push Nichushkin down to CGY spot. Although I cannot fathom how EDM does not take a D man with their pick.

I edited it because I believe there's some flux there.

But that's the point: we are still going to get a Lindholm, Monahan or Nichushkin
People need to relax

Me too. But if the others are gone, he's a heck of a consolation prize

May as well roll with him now as he's a top three talent of the team does their homework and decides he's worth the risk especially if they can't get a guy like Monahan.

As a Flames fan it is awesome to see a worse management team than ours. But a teenage EA NHL vidiot can see they need to draft D. Shameful and sad.

I wish I could know more about Nurse and Zadarov so i could be excited about them too. I did this to myself, when i realized that weren't bad enough for MacKinnon or Drouin I got too focused on Lindholm and now I'm paranoid.

I think its still possible for us to drop out of the top 10 slot?

I hope the Oilers draft D to fill needs. Its what their stupid management would do. Even the best D in the best drafts need a least 2 - 3 years of seasoning before the are ready to contribute to a winning team. By then the Oils Cap problems will have started.
The smartest thing they could do is draft a Big Strong Forward, who will play top 6 soon, and then trade Eberle or Yakupov for a NHL ready top pairing d man.
Heres hoping the take a Dman because they feel the need to fill a hole.

If Nichushkin fell to us I wouldn't be sad at all.
The guy is a top 3 pick in this draft if he is North American born.
