Do we have an actual link or details? I agree on the article, but if it's so easy, someone on CP can link that page.

I think it's a few wackos, making the medias job very easy. And of course, all of us just watching.

There is this support page http://www.facebook.com/SupportLukaMagnotta
A lot of the members seem to be people against him anyway though.

As for him being mentally ill, I really don't think he is schizophrenic or anything like that. I read an article from the psychiatrist of Paul Bernardo where he stated (paraphrasing) that he felt this guy's act was far too meticulous and also suggested that mentally ill people don't have the tendency to commit murder in a sexually motivated fashion, where that appeared to be the case here.

First the site, 85 likes. That's worldwide. 2/3's of them are disenfranchised teens. And 'satanists' wanting to be badass. Kinda what I expected. Not the deal the media makes it out to be. Just a spin story.

Second the assessment. Agree entirely. I mentioned this from the very beginning. The man is not ill. He's just an attention whore. He cannot plead ill. He is too careful and I don't want to say meticulous cause that would be an insult to others. But he did have a plan.

Thanks for posting that. I read the article and thought it was messed up, and that's as far as I got haha.

I think he denied to go the mental health evaluation way and his only request was a judge and jury, IIRC. Anyway, it's pretty ####e-y because he is definitely an attention whore and I don't want to give him what he wants, but damnit it's a fascinating story.

Apparently a human head has been found in a Montreal Park.

Quote:
Police have found what appears to be a human head in a park in Montreal and are investigating whether it is the missing head of Chinese student Jun Lin who they say was dismembered by a Luka Rocco Magnotta.

“It’s too early to confirm if this finding has anything to do with the [Lin] homicide,” Constable Anie Lemieux of the Montreal police told the Montreal Gazette. “We’re waiting on lab results to determine whether what we found are human remains.”

Information obtained over the course of the investigation of murder suspect Luka Rocca Magnotta led police to Angrignon Park, a 110-acre green space in Montreal’s Ville Emard/La Salle district. The park has several densely wooded areas and is just a few kilometres from Magnotta’s apartment in N.D.G.

Finally...but disappointing. A park? Come on, Luka. I expected more.

Confirmed it was Jun Lin's head in the park.

Sounds like the trail is about to begin. I was wondering what was happening since most media outlets haven't talked about this for over a year.

The video isn't bad. Just shows him walking around, and what looks to be him disposing of evidence.

He's even wearing the victim's shirt and hat afterwards. Gross.

Nothing gory. It just shows Magnotta and the victim entering the building, and then time stamp indicates only Magnotta leaving a new hours later, with what looks like the shirt Lin was wearing.

Nothing really chilling, in my opinion. Just a bunch of security video clips of the guy going in and out of his building and throwing various items (evidence) into the trash.

Thanks.

I'm a little gunshy to click on anything about this guy after some a-hole on Facebook thought it would be funny to link to the actual video of the killing and have it on autoplay or whatever actually starts it up soon as you scroll to it. I could have gone a lifetime not seeing what I briefly did.

Luka Rocco Magnotta has been found guilty on all counts in the murder and dismemberment of Chinese engineering student Jun Lin, in a trial that hinged on Magnotta's mental state at the time of the grisly killing.

It took the eight women and four men on the jury eight days of deliberation to reach a verdict.

The jury also found Magnotta guilty of criminally harassing Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other MPs, guilty of mailing obscene and indecent material, guilty of committing an indignity to a body, and guilty of publishing obscene materials.

Good job by the jury, but also tragic, as this is just the kind of attention he wants. I doubt he gives a flying #### about his sentencing, he's probably gotten use to prison life and just wants TV cameras on him. Even if he received a lesser sentence, he'd be maxed out on meds at a mental health institution for the rest of his life.

For now maybe, but he will fade into obscurity soon.

He also said in writing after the cat killing video that he was going to kill a human and that he would get away with it, so I don't think going to prison for the rest of his life was in his initial plans.

I'm so sick of the media plastering his glamour photos across the front page. If they have to show a picture of this POS show a picture of him looking miserable in his prison uniform.
