One reporter says the foot is plastic though (the one in Montreal). Let's hope he's right.

Yeah, it has been confirmed as fake:

A foot found in Montreal's Notre-Dame-de-Grāce neighbourhood that was at first was believed to be from a human isn't real, Montreal police now say.

Any chance he did more than one murder?
I suppose the police only found one torso in his apartment though.

I don't think there's a rhyme or reason with this guy. Sometimes crazy people just do crazy things without much reasoning. My only possible guess is that shipping the other parts to Vancouver helps keep this story alive at the top of the news for a bit longer because it takes longer to ship things West? Regardless I can't wait for this guy to go away, though something tells me he's gonna do everything he can to stay relevant.

Packages to Vancouver schools came from Montreal. Pretty obvious at this point who is behind this IMO.
Luka keeps getting more loco as the story develops.
I'm putting my money on the head ending up in Toronto or Halifax.

If he killed someone ion the US, they should extradite him there and let them put him on trial and punish him.
I can already see it now. Our sad sack justice system will give him 30 days community service, pay for a university degree for him, coddle him with counseling, make sure he is eligible for social benefits, then ignore the suffering of the victims family, and somehow pin blame on them for making Luka the victim somehow.
Let them try him in the US, and put him in a MAX security institution for life.
Better yet, they have the death penalty in California. I think this is one case you can argue it is right. He is on film committing the act. ZERO doubt.

You know, your hyperbole would be enjoyable if it was even remotely clever or witty. Instead you just come off sounding like a complete idiot. This guy is doing Clifford Olson time, and everyone with a fully functional brain knows it.

I am going to ask you an honest question wihout calling you an idiot.
Why is it you always stand up for the Canadian justice system, especially when it deals with monsters like this? Especially when Canada has a history of letting them off soft, and allowing them to torment their victims from behind bars... ala Olsen. I remember you staunchly defending Graham James, and the sentence he received. And anyone that was against had a vastly inferior knowledge of the criminal justice system as you.
Why do you feel our justice system is so good? And do you honestly feel it deals with criminals harshly enough. Because I believe the universal opinion, is it does not.

I'm pretty worried about the head. I thought of Seven right away too. Horrible.
I expect this guy is going to do hard time. He'd have to argue he's NCR to get off and I don't see that happening. Plus, judging from what we know of him, he's all about attention and will want a sensational trial.
Then hopefully we can lock him up and forget about him, forever, and not give him the satisfaction of our attention.
Lin's mother - god. I can't even imagine.

First off, I wasn't calling you an idiot. I was saying hyperbolic statements like that are idiotic.
Quote:

That's called selective perception. Olsen got life, Pickton got life, etc., etc. You have one example of an atrocious murder being dealt with "softly" (although correctly) in the Li case, and you're using it to generalize the entire justice system. And didn't Olsen have his letter-writing privileges restricted anyways? And if you think the United States is a beacon for preventing that crap, then I guess you've never really studied Dahmer's or Manson's activities behind bars.

I don't think I've ever staunchly defended James or any of the actions he committed. I defended the trial judge on the basis that he followed the letter of the law and not his emotions, which judges are supposed to do. The law itself sucks, but the judge had to follow it or risk the legitimacy of the justice system.

I've never said our justice system is perfect. In fact, I've criticized it many times on this site. For one thing, I think we should have consecutive sentences for violent crimes. I think our minimum sentences for sex offenders do a poor job of protecting our women and children. However, I also find a touch of irony in Conservative supporters bemoaning the weaknesses of the justice system when they put a man in power who thinks growing pot should carry a harsher sentence than sexual assault.

Montreal teacher suspended for airing alleged Lin Jun gore video in class
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...rticle4255606/
Quote:
A high school teacher in Montreal was suspended after showing his students a gory video police believe depicts some of the violence inflicted upon slain Concordia student Lin Jun.
|
Quote:
According to CBC Montreal, the teacher asked students to vote anonymously on whether to see the video. They all wanted to do so and, after watching the material, spent the rest of the class discussing it. A 16-year-old told the broadcaster that the video was troubling, but didn’t have a lasting effect on him.
Others felt differently and a “crisis cell” of psychiatrists and counsellors that was dispatched to the school heard from several students.

What interests me is that he let his students vote on it. I'm not in tune with the average high school kid anymore, but a few years ago, we would have voted to watch anything as long as it avoided a lecture. We even let our Social Studies teacher show us a documentary series for a week just so he wouldn't teach.
