I have a question for you hip hop gurus. I have been enjoying songs like heartbeat by childish gambino because of their undertones of electronica. Is there a specific genre or artists who make similar songs? I know Dizzie Rascal and Tinie Tempah are on a bunch of songs but I am hoping there is a secret sub genre I am missing and can exploit!
Do you like stuff like El-P and Cannibal Ox? They are bit different from what you listed, but have some electronic undertones.

Hmmm.
Common had a couple of electronic-ish albums in Electric Circus and Universal Mind Control.
You need to check out The Take Over album by Zion I. Here are a couple of samples you might like if you enjoy electronic undertones:

I watched that too. The cast is ridiculously good, but I found it without a real purpose or theme. I mean, it was just sort of all over the place it left me kind of saying, "what the hell was the point?" afterwards.
Overall, I thought if Ice-T was taken out of the movie, it would've been 100x better haha.

Ya I kinda of felt that way too but I still found it pretty entertaining. The verse he spit was one of the best Ice-T verses in the last 20 years easy.
2013 looks like it's going to be a pretty decent year for Hip Hop. Some of the ones I'm looking forward to:
Raekwon - Lost Jewelry
Raekwon - F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art)
Common - TBA
Cappadonna - Eyrth, Wynd, and Fyre
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Cocaine Pinata
Ice Cube - Everything's Corrupt
Joell Ortiz - Yaowa
Killah Priest - The Psychic World of Walter Reed
Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2
Talib Kweli - Prisoner of Conscious
Obviously more can be announced.
Some Canadian rappers I look forward to hearing from: k-os and Shad.
Plus I'm sure Detox and Event II will come out this year.
Does he even need to bother anymore. He was the highest grossing musician in 2012 according to Forbes due 90% to his Beat by Dr. Dre headphones. I honestly can't see any reason why he'd even bother haha. If he does decide to release it, I think everyone will be disappointed out of their mind.
Event II I could see coming out. Is it confirmed that Dan the Automator will be producing the whole thing again? If so, I'll put that to my #1 most wanted Hip Hop list of 2013
