I am drawing a blank on the song title [edit: it's Bury me a G] but a Thug Life song samples the same Isley Brother track, obviously the Thug Life track is harder but I love both.
But just because IMO they are the greatest group in music history, let's take a listen to the song INC Ride samples
Isley Brothers - For the Love of You.
There's also this one which Puff Daddy didn't even try to alter at all and pretty much just straight took. Like a lot of Bad Boy songs.
an early 90's favorite. Always packed the dance floors. Sway was such a smooth rapper.
Oakland/SF based and now is one of the leading interviewers in hip hop, host "the wake up show"
One of my favorite groups, The Coup has a new album coming out and they have some interesting giveaways is you pledge some money towards getting a tour bus

Also, one of the best of the best, Brother Ali is coming out with his new album this coming Tuesday the 17th. Should be pretty sick if his past work can be used as any precedent.

Went on an old school download spree the other day, my selections included:
. Pete rock and cl smooth they reminisce over you
. Slick Rick Mona Lisa
. Epmd You gots to chill
Nice selections. I always feel like EPMD is kinda underrated as far as golden era groups. I mean they get their props but when people name groups from that time period it's usually Tribe, De La Soul, Run DMC etc.
Mecca and the Soul Brother album by Pete Rock and CL is classic material. T.R.O.Y is probably my favorite song off there and probably my fav Pete Rock and CL joint of all time.
Can't go wrong with some slick rick ever. All his albums are good.
