7 claims so far and counting.
Lesson for noobs - always try to trade a player before losing them for nothing.

Is waiver order based on last years standings? If so where would I find those?

shocked Lack is waived. In my books he is one of the top goalie prospects with no real NHL experience.

When teams make a claim they go to the bottom of the waiver list. Then the next criteria is reverse order in standings.
Waiver list will get reset when the regular season begins.

I had no intention of trying to get rid of Lack. I was hoping he'd sneak through waivers, to open up some cap space, with me adding Kyle Okposo to the roster.

Very few players that hold any value sneak through anymore. That's why I still have guys like Viktor Fasth and Damien Brunner on my CPHL roster - there are too many GMs that are savvy enough to claim guys with long-term potential.
Always worth getting a 2nd opinion on something like this before you do it. Ask around and see if the player holds value.
Not piling on - just trying to help new GMs along and hope folks can learn from mistakes.

I learned really fast as I got burnt a month into my tenure when I traded for Antti Niemi in July 09 when he only had a 57 rating at the time, 2 days later I waived him thinking his rating was too low for someone to want to keep him on the CPHL roster for a year. Well I thought wrong, 48 hours later he was a member of the Canucks. It is funny how you might remember the good moves but really really remember the bad ones.
I guess the rule of thumb might be only waive someone you are prepared to lose

Waiver period has past, but have to figure who got this guy out of the huge number of claims. I"ll post the winner this weekend sometime.

I might loathe the Canucks, but if their players can make my team better in the sim, then who cares.
I hate Crosby too, but if he were to come to Florida for spare change, I wouldn't turn that down either.

Goes to St. Loo - the team lowest in the standings last year with no waiver claims.
