The top 3 in the 2014 draft are not that good. Lindholm and Monahan would likely push for 1st pick in the 2014 draft.
Weak draft year or not, top 3 picks are the most likely to be star players in the NHL. I'm sure the Flames would be thrilled to land one of Nylander, Reinhart and Ekblad.

It may be a weak draft but at the very least let the 17 year olds play their draft eligible year. Even 8 months at their age can be a difference. A little early to write them off imo.

Which speaks to how top heavy the 2013 draft was more then anything.

Or better yet offer another contract to Steve Begin

Great signing... Much like Gaudreau's thread, some comments in this thread gave me a few good laughs.

That being said, I think Jooris will get resigned with Joe Colborne money, 2 x 1.25m, (that's if he is an RFA after 2 years). If he's a UFA in 2 years, sign a one year deal first and then a 3-4 year one.

Always satisfying to see someone get proven wrong on the internet when they start out in ignorance.

On the first page that guy had never heard of him so he questioned the signing. Instead of leaving it at that he dug and dug and dug and was more interested in attempting to justify his ignorant stance than he was admitting he was being premature with his objection.

A year later... gold.

This thread was a really good read! Also very neat to see this all took place within the last 18 months or so. Good on Jooris. He is treat to watch.
