None. There is lots of noise out there about the POSSIBILITY, but nothing concrete. Apple is not saying a word. But the innovate folks out there are suggesting MyWi to create a WiFi hotspot out of your phone, but that requires jailbreaking the phone.

But anyhow, how long is Rogers going to allow free tethering?

I wasn't saying the iPad sucks, as you noted. Saying that image implies people who use any Apple products suck is even a bit of a stretch. Ok, maybe there's a little ribbing in there for the over the top fan boys - nothing too bad. To me, it's more of a commentary on the success of Apple's marketing; you really have to hand it to them. They've found their niche, they know how to market to their consumer base and they're able to create a pretty big hype around every single product they sell or even hint about possibly launching.

I'm by no means anti-Apple but they're not my default go to brand for computing for various reasons that don't need to derail the thread any more. The bottom line is if tipping my hat to their marketing department makes me a ###### and a troll, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.

I think this point was a little lost in the argument. I have been trying to decide if I should wait for the 3gs ipad or just get the wifi one. I did some googling yesterday and it would appear that jailbreaking my phone to act as a hotspot solves nearly every problem. This might be my weekend project. If it all goes well, 32 gig ipad here I come.

I have a few questions that I'm not sure can be answered. I'm going to Phoenix in April and thinking to pick up an iPad. Can I buy the 3GS version, but not put a SIM card in and use it as just Wifi until I'm back in Canada? Also, the Apple Store in Phoenix is quite far from where I am staying (near the airport) nor is there a Best Buy near the airport. What are the other Future Shop -esque electronic stores in the U.S. that might carry it?

I solved a dilemma today. I realize nobody really cares, but my work benefits don't re-up till july so I'd have to wait 4 months to get one. My parents want one too. I'm just going to buy one at launch, wait 4 months, sell it to my folks and then buy it again and submit the receipt of the new one and get reimbursed. True story.

In addition to the ones already announced, Barnes & Noble announced their app last week and now Amazon has announced their iPad app this morning.
