Just got back from the Saddledome.

I... really don't know what to say. When Thompson's goal to make it 4-3 counted, I knew it wouldn't be long before the Ducks tied it up. Suffice to say, they did.

I don't often place the blame for a loss squarely on one person, but Brian Elliott fully deserves every word of criticism he gets after that effort. He was truly horrendous tonight, and wrecked the team's mojo when everyone else was firing at all cylinders.

The best Flames tonight were the third line of Bennett, Versteeg, and Chiasson. All three are free agents, and all three should be back next season. They were a three-man wrecking crew out there.

On the other hand, the 3M line was absolutely nonexistent tonight. I have no idea what Conroy said to Tkachuk but if it's what's causing his slump then Conroy's responsibilities need to be cut down. In addition, T.J. Brodie was just terrible tonight and needs to find his game again if this team wants to be competitive.

I coined a new term during the game: "Gaudreau-itis". You have it when you don't shoot the puck at a glaringly obvious opportunity. It's the Flames' mumps these days, my goodness.

Anyway, that was just an excruciating experience.

I think Elliott's record against the Ducks is now 1-10-2. Almost as bad as the team record against them. We are done on Thursday. I feel bad for the players that are trying, but we don't have the mental fortitude to beat them right now. The Ducks are laughing at the Flames.Honestly, I can't blame them.

I think GG is fine. He's proven to be a good coach during the season. It's not his fault Elliot can't stop pucks in the playoffs, and that we can't hold leads.

Man, what a deflating game. You can't say Flames let up, they didn't allow a shot in the 3rd for the first 10 freaking minutes. Then a combination of Elliott sucking and NHL screwjob cost us a 3rd goal, which then deflated the whole team. Even then, the last half of the 3rd was mostly even, except for goaltending.

Elliott was good the first game, but completely sucked the last two. Flames could have handily won both games had they had even average starting goaltending. Elliott and the NHL pretty much cost the Flames the series IMO.

Not really an excuse. When both the Ducks forum and the Flames forum are simultaneously commenting how bad Elliott is looking, Gulutzan should have seen it too.

The very soft 4-4 goal should have been the last straw.
