I had this same trade offered to me. Can someone please explain the logic behind moving down 37 spots now just to move up 37 spots later?
I get moving down 20 spots now and moving up 37 later. I get moving 15 down now and moving up 37 later. I just can't understand moving down 37 now and moving up 37 later. What do you get out of doing that?

Samething could be said about the trade you made earlier.
Steve traded you his 43rd and 96th for your 37th and 175th. For him to move up 6 spots he moves down 79 spots later.
There are so many good looking girls in the world that it probably doesn't matter in the long run. For me after this pick I don't have to worry about a pick for 3 rounds which is good because I am starting a new job. Maybe Steve figures it will be better to have a bunch of picks all lumped together

It's not the same thing at all. I moved done 6 spots and moved up 79 spots later.
That's nowhere near the same as moving down 37 and moving up 37 later. The person moving down has gained absolutely nothing from this transaction and, in fact, has lost the trade because all they've really done is deferred their upcoming pick and got nothing in return. Heck, even if a person moved down 36 and moved up 37 later, they could at least say, "Hey, I moved up a spot in the next round." but 37 and 37 makes no sense.
Edit: I'm really looking to interfere with anything. I just have a fairly healthy respect for logic, and I'm trying to wrap my head around this trade.

A 2nd round pick was very important at the time. so moving up 6 spots for 79 spots later was fine.
FanIn80: this trade makes sense too.. it's your basic 7th and 10th for 8th and 9th trade. There is some advantage cause he'll get to pick twice in the 9th round before the other guy picks 10th.

No, my offer was my 7th and 10th for someone else 7th and 8th - which means I would have moved down 10 spots and moved up 30 in the next round.
I was offered my 7th and 10th for someone else 8th and 9th, which I walked away from, because why would I moved down 1 round now to move up one round later? It makes no sense at all.
And this "advantage" to getting two picks in the 9th round isn't an advantage at all, when you give up a pick in 7th round to get it.

I never said it WAS the same thing. Where is the logic of moving 6 spots to lose 79 later?? You wanted to make a move so I made an offer. I am not about to make an offer to lose ground. Steve wanted to make a move and I made the same offer. I guess it is up to Steve to explain his logic. For me it was a no brainer

I can see doing it in the first round, with the amount of women out there I really don't see it beneficial at those numbers.

Well, obviously for you it was a no brainer.
Anyway... whatever. I'm sure I'm not the only guy on the planet that would be baffled by this.
