I can't believe that nobody has mentioned it yet...

The Knack's "Good Girls Don't" was also a big hit at the time, though not as well-know today. I think it is a better song.

The band attempted to update the Beatles sound for the new wave era on their debut. A good idea that was well executed, but critics cried "foul" when millions sold after Capitol's pre-release hype (it went gold in 13 days and eventually sold five million copies, making it one of the most successful debuts in history). Get the Knack is at once sleazy, sexist, hook-filled and endlessly catchy — above all, it's a guilty pleasure and an exercise in simple fun. When is power-pop legitimate anyway? Includes the unforgettable hits "My Sharona" and "Good Girls Don't."

A popular hit in the 1960's, during the Vietnam War, Staff Sargeant Barry Sadler with: "Silver Wings." On satellite, old Ed Sullivan shows come on and I taped Sadler singing this one (yes, that's how lifeless my life is!!).

Didn't he sing "The Green Beret's" as well?

Fave one hit wonder.......

Frankie's "Relax" was great.

And "Addams Groove", theme from "The Addams Family".

Remember when MC Hammer and Deion Sanders used to hang-out? Deion had MC and his entourage on the side-lines for Falcons games, and they would keep doing the goofy 2 legit 2 quit hand signals.

The beatles a one-hit wonder? Surprised no-one has mentioned "blue" by eiffel 65. How popular was that song? I would hear someone playing it every minute.

Probably because we are all trying to forget that one --- along with Hampster Dance.

MC Hammer was not a one-hit wonder. He was a superstar the likes of which the world has never seen or will see again.

I have a t-shirt promoting the MC Hammer dragster "Hammertime" and I get lots of compliments on it.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood- Relax
I would consider Frankie to be a "two hit wonder". Their power ballad "The Power of Love" was pretty big. [/b][/quote]
and "two tribes" was a moderate hit too

You know, I was thinking about that as I tossed that song down. I wasn't sure if he was a one hit wonder or not, but I could only remember 2 songs by him so I figured he just might be.

It would seem as though I was incorrect...

Actually I think you were right. He might have had a 2 songs, but he went from nowhere to being huge to being the butt of jokes in a pretty short period of time.

I believe he also had the problems with bankruptcy and reposessed mansions and all that. He can't even get a gig on "The Surreal Life".

Another one: The Ataris. They have the added humiliation of their one hit being a cover song. The Lemonheads might be in the same boat.

How about MArcy Playground? They only had that one hit too right? Sex and Candy I think it was called.

And Soul Coughing "Super Bon Bon" was their only hit (and a moderate one at that).
